The consensus at the Redskins first personnel meetings of the offseason was that the team needs to upgrade at both guard spots as well as right tackle.

Neither 2008 third-round guard Chad Rinehart nor tackle Stephon Heyer are viewed as capable starters, and there's little room in the budget for free agent upgrades. Aging guards Pete Kendall and Randy Thomas will likely return at cheap rates with the team hoping to grab a right tackle in the first round of the draft. If Jason Campbell is going to turn the corner in '09, he's going to need considerable improvement up front.

Still Kendall could have helped us tremendously in 2007. I think his leaving was the biggest reason the team tanked. Clarke was not an NFL caliber player - as his later unemployment clearly showed. So our OL turned into a sieve and we couldn't run or pass the ball. It's tough to score points when that happens.
