The Jets did not make the top 15 and look who's #13-15. A new low for Brady's bitch http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/12/27/mmqb/2.html 10. Cincinnati (10-5). Strong words from Rodney Harrison on "Football Night in America,'' calling the Bengals frauds on TV last night. 11. Pittsburgh (8-7). The Steelers might not be a playoff team, but they're exciting. 12. Baltimore (8-7). The best thing Ravens coach John Harbaugh could do this morning is put a stop to the-officials-cost-us-the-game talk that I'm sure is all over the Baltimore practice facility. Watch the four costly calls and you'll see they all were justified, with one asterisk. It was clear the Ravens felt the Frank Walker illegal-contact foul shouldn't have been called because the Ravens thought Ben Roethlisberger was out of the pocket on the play, and if the quarterback's out of the pocket, a receiver can be hit beyond the five-yard bump zone. Now, I haven't watched the play with all the angles timed right to see whether Big Ben is out of the pocket, but someone who watched the play told me he felt Roethlisberger was still in the pocket. 13. Carolina (7-8). The Panthers are better running the ball and stopping the run than Denver right now. 14. Houston (8-7). Edge the Jets because of offensive explosiveness. Amazing, isn't it, that Matt Schaub's going to end up with 4,700 passing yards or so. What's this league coming to? 15. Denver (8-7). Points for valor, but the Broncos are 2-7 since Nov. 1. i've learned to not give the least shit about what the media says about the jets.... just make the playoffs...rank us last for all i care
who cares? pete raves about revis and still thinks he should be the DPOY, so I'll let his stupid power ranks slide.
the only accurate power rankings are those that the nfl puts out at the end of the season. right now we are about number 12 in those.
lol we're below a Denver team that lost at home to Oakland we're below the Panthers who we just beat. We beat Housotn. I know the Jets have lost bad games but they beat the god awful teams. Atlanta has talent.
Like I stated in another thread other then Buffalo have we really lost to any awful teams? Granted we should have beaten Atlanta, Miami at least once and Jax but this team really isn't that far away from being 12-4. It's ok I'd rather be under the radar and let people sleep on us going into the playoffs this way it's a shock when we beat the Bengals twice in a row.
With 1 game to go and the Jets currently owning 1 of 12 playoff spots, it's inconceivable to not have them in the top 12, let alone put AFC teams in front of them that currently are on the outside looking in. Whatever.
seriously -- and it was either him or banks that said the jets can scare teams because their rushing attack just seems to find 175 yards every game. The Texans weren't so explosive against the Jets!!!! Andre Johnson might get all kinds of elaborate never before seen coverages from other teams but we just matched him up with DR and said check!!! Steve Smith might be the toughest player in football but DR made him the invisible man!!
Heh, we should have a "who do you want to leave the team" poll next year to see who I get as my adopt a jet. I'm worse than the Madden curse when it comes to AAJ or buying jerseys.
Of course the Steelers are exciting. They have a big passing game, and no pass defense. Of course Houston is exciting. They have a big passing game and no defense. Denver is 2-7 in the last 9 weeks, and they're ahead of us? Excuse me? Carolina? Matt Moore made them better, but a 7-8 NFC team ahead of an 8-7 possibly playoff-bound AFC team is a jok.e
and some other article on cnn said that even if the Broncos don't make the playoffs they should be proud of their season...ummmmm in the NFL there is no next year. Each year plays out so differently with schedules, injuries, luck etc... you start 6-0 and fail to reach the playoffs it is a disappointment and no team that has fallen that hard should be a top 15 team.
I'd say you probably have a 3 stroke lead heading into the clubhouse with that pick. Soss (if you happen to be reading) - Tentatively put me in for Vernon Gholston, 2010 AAJ, if you will.
If the Jets goto the AFC Championship game or the Super Bowl, King will be forced to move the Jets into the Top 15. I think.
