I dont think giving up Abraham who has first round value is "cheap." But Ramsey would be nice. I think he can really flourish with a coaching staff that believes in him.

There is a reason he has been beaten out by an average NFL QB twice. I would not trade Abe for Ramsey and a 3rd. Ramsey and a 2nd and 3rd, maybe.

Jets | Abraham says it is time to move on
    Sun, 26 Feb 2006 06:58:12 -0800

Steve Serby, of the New York Post, reports New York Jets franchised DE John Abraham is more than ready to leave the Jets. "I don't think they really respect me as a player," Abraham told The Post yesterday in his first public remarks since being slapped with the $8.3 million franchise tag. "I feel I overstayed my welcome in New York. It's time to move on." What particularly irks Abraham is the silent treatment he's gotten from the Jets. "Their communication was really bad with me throughout the whole year," he said. There are rumblings that new head coach Eric Mangini and general manager Mike Tannenbaum will explore trading Abraham between now and the April 29 NFL Draft. Abraham has yet to sign the $8.3 franchise tender. Asked if he plans on signing it, Abraham said: "I'm not sure. It's according to what they're going to do. No one from that organization has called me personally."

NO! JUST SAY NO! ramsey is a complete underachiever. Never has been good, never will be good. Only accept this trade if the skins give up next year's first and this year's second or third in addition to ramsey

Ramsey is a good kid,but Gibbs just flat out doesn't like his game.

When Gibbs re-arrived, first thing he did was trade for Brunell, then held a little mock QB competition against a Patrick Ramsey that was coming back from foot surgery.

during the first game of this season he throws an interception because the receiver(James Thrash) ran the wrong route(Gibbs said this in the post-game presser),and then he gets KO'd by a clothesline from Lance Briggs. the previous play before that was a TD pass to Chris Cooley but it was called back. 'twas a bogus offensive pass interference call also.

The article actualy just says that the skins have contacted the Jets to see if they are interested. It's just speculation that the Jets are interested.

The whole World knows that Ramsey is not in the skins plans and that they are looking to get rid of him, plus Ramsey doesn't have a lot of stock in this point and time. You would be very very lucky to get a 1st day pick for him.

    the phins also want Ramsey

2 division rivals trying to trade for the same guy will inflate his stock artificially, and there are still some teams out there with unsettled QB postions.

It won't inflate it by much when there is a fair chance he could get cut if he doesn't get traded.

if there is a new CBA which is very likely, we could easily hold onto Ramsey

Although I hate Serby, that article really says it all in the quotes. John Abraham is as good as gone. That sucks.

But Ramsey wouldn't be very happy with that. He's 3rd string right now,if he doesn't get traded,he'll ask to be released.

Plus i believe he is heading into the last year of his contract, you won't get a high draft pick for a guy you could get next year for free.

If we trade Abraham for a 3rd and Ramsey, I'm gonna shoot Mike T. in the head.

2 coaches have already given up on this guy (Spurrier & Gibbs). Brunell got the starting job over this guy and that should tell you something.

Ramsey should be a last resort.

Its not like you are trading Abraham with a contract lol. The cap comes into this and the team you trade him too will have to work out a big long term deal. The Jets will have to take less to get him off your books but more so to get another team to take him at his price.

It does suck, because I think John Ab could be a monster in the 3-4 under Mangini, he's played outside before in college and in the NFL.
With that said, why are we treating the guy like garbage? At least try to work out a deal with him.
