We don't deserve any "RESPECT" we haven't won a SB since 69 so why should we get respect. This game is all about winning the SB and if we ever do that agian then we will get a lot of respect.

I agree that we dont really deserve to much respect... but we don't need a superbowl to get respect.. we just need to do a lot better.

"Don't you blaspheme in here! Don't you blaspheme in here! This is my man, this is my restaurant, and you two are gonna turn around and walk right out of here - without your dry white toast, without your four fried chickens and a coke, and without Matt 'Guitar' Murphy!"

How does a team who did not make the playoffs like the Broncos get 5 prime time games and the Jets, who made the playoffs, get one which may not even hold? It must be because of lack of respect. I can tell you that the papers in the Denver were talking about all the prime time games the Broncos will be playing.

Yeah you do. I would have assumed for sure you would be. If for nothing else the fact that you're New York. But I think you deserve it for your play last season.

Thanksgiving to me almost counts as 2 Monday Night games...

You can't really have a bigger stage when EVERYONE is watching...

Monday Night games are overrated and mess with my schedule. Gimme football every Sunday every season, 1st game 2nd game or night games. And stick Thursday and Saturday games up the ol wazoo too.

I dont agree! The Jets have been in the playoffs an awful lot in the past 7 yearsor even the last 9. I fight for every bit of respect that the jets deserve. In years past we would have to sit through the "Same ole jets" or "Are you guys going to go 0-16 " screw that we have repect now! Even during the changing of the guard from Parcells to Edwards and then to Mangini ,not alot of teams that have had to new coaches and still made the playoff's.

This whole "respect" things sounds alot like whining to me. So we don't get a monday night game. So what. Who wants to play on a short week anyway. Besides, its not like we're a great draw outside of the tri-state nor do we have any of the star power other teams seem to have.

All we gotta do, to coin a phrase from Big Al Davis is: "just win baby". Do that, and the respect will come. Nobody gives you respect. Its something you earn and in the NFL, that means making it to the big games instead of getting bounced early.

I agree...Thanksgiving is worth at least 2, if not more MNF games.

I agree, but I think it is more than that. The Jets have won the big games (not THE big game though) before under Parcels and even Edwards. The problem is the Jets have always been one and done. One good year followed by an average, mediocre, or bad year. The Jets will gain respect once they prove to be a winning organization, and in the running for the SB every year, even if the don't necessarily get there. The Steelers and Broncos had respect before and after they won the SB. The Eagles have respect even though they haven't been able to win the SB. That is because they are quality organizations, in the running every year. The Jets have started down this path with Mangini and Tannenbaum, both planning for the future and installing an atmosphere of winning. With the new training facility and stadium, the Jets are heading in that direction. But they are not there yet, but I have high hopes.

Maybe they didn't give us a Monday night game because they didn't want to have to deal with another round of complaints about the announcers. Remember the Monday night game and all of the complaining that went on regarding the announcers' criticism of Chad? Give me a Sunday night game over those assholes covering MNF.

I'm actually kinda' thrilled that we're flying under the radar again!!! Now we can come up behind some teams and whack'em in the head! There's no pressure and we have a better team. I'm pumped. And the draft is coming 3 days after my b-day... I love that! A load of late birthday gifts every year.
