I read in the reports today Pennington is scheduled to count 15M on the 2006 cap (see Cimini's article. I trust Cimini on most cap issues). However, in the article, he states Pennington is scheduled to make 9M in real cash this year.. $6M in base, $3 in a roster bonus due 3/2.

He has 3M of his pro-rated signing bonus on the cap for 2006 (if he's on the team). That's $12M

Does anyone know where the extra $3 is coming from? Im going to guess an incentive, but I am not certain... Anyone know for sure?

Your numbers are correct. They are the same numbers I have been reading about for the last year. Don't know about Cimini's.

I heard 15 in the middle of last season, but then it went away and back to 12. Now 15 is back.

Cimini definitely did not make an error. He had an entire paragraph about it. He explained how we'd save 3M if he's cut this year, which the 15M number implies.

He may have a figure error, but he didn't misspeak.
