That last drive was embarrasing. Our Pass rush was inexcusable. We gave him and that supposedly shitty O) line all freakin day and let Chad do what he couldn't do for us anymore. Great we got a win. We should have! And more convincingly. Are we going to have to go through another season of shitty pass rush? Becuse if we do count on no more than 6 wins.

On the + side our offense looks good.

disclaimer: I made this thread shortly after being all fired up after the last drive. I have explained that even i think it was a stupid thread numerous times. I still think the prevent strategy at the end will kill us vs anyone not named Pennington. I feel the need to put this here because i have explained the thread was a knee jerk over reaction enough. This is for those who have the reading comprehension of a fucking peanut.

Personally, I thought the offensive play-calling was really shitty down the stretch.
Looked like a Paul Hackett offense.

Did you even PAY ATTENTION to the game? lol...Pennington was getting sacked, the Dolphins run game was getting shut down and Pennington was under pressure all game!

Did you even watch how players like Pace, Ellis and Thomas played today? lol.

Wanna talk about..."embarrasing"? Fans such as yourself and threads such as this one are...embarrasing to every other Jets fan who understands the game of football.

Ya, it was god awful at the end. No pressure. Coverage was non existant till the last 2 plays. They'll need to step it up a notch next week against NE

  5. Lets keep in mind that we had 4 sacks and several other pressures. the last drive looked more like a week 1 excessive heat/endurance issue.

Pennington did nothing until the 4th quarter when our D stopped with the blitzing schemes and we went into prevent (too early may I add)

It was more of a useless type defense. Penny had all day to find a reciever and they were consistantly open.

That was a prevent-D. Drop Back, cover the Sideline, cover Deep let him complete some in the middle of the field and make the Tackle. When they got into the Redzone they put on the pressure again. And forced him to sling one, which he never was able to do.

I agree. The play calling at the end was horrible and if we end up losing a game because of it I will be furious. Typical conservative play calling that probably cost us 3 or 4 games last year.

Guys...Lets not forget it was almost 100 degrees on the field, with 90% humidity...You think Jenkins can play in those conditions? These guys still arent in "football shape", regardless of the preseason. They were just tired, thats all. They spent all of their energy in the first half STUFFING the run. They will be fine.

Absolutely. They were not sending extra rushers, looked to be a three man rush, occasionally four.

Yeah, a prevent us from winning type of defense. They got lucky. Can't do that against the better teams.

Once again...Fans like yourself are embarrasing...Just look @ yourself. Classy post, classy post.

Do you understand the meaning of prevent defense? Do you understand the meaning of playing to protect the lead during the last two mins? Do you understand the meaning of sending your team to blitz...Then guess what happens? We give up a TD.

It's obvious you have no idea what a prevent Defense is supposed to do, because if you did...You would have never made a sorry ass thread like this.

Miami rushed for under 60 yards today...We did what we had to do...We won the game with great pressure on the QB all game long

It seemed like mangini was relying too much on the clock winding down. Once it came time to get some stops, we did just that.

I think that that was key - they looked gassed to me. Until the final drive there was absolutely nothing that could be said about the D line in particular, or the D in general.

Are people surprised that Chad could manage a team down the field successfully? He's done that his entire career. He also couldn't throw the final TD pass, because he didn't have the arm to shoot it in there in a tight spot. We've seen that dozens of times.
