One cranky congressman voted ?nay? on a resolution congratulating the New York Giants on their Super Bowl win. Surprisingly, it wasn?t a member from Massachusetts, but a politician from Pennsylvania: The BUCKS COUNTY COURIER TIMES reports that local rep Patrick Murphy was the sole dissenting vote in the congressional resolution that passed 412-1 on Wednesday. The resolution officially honored the Giants for beating New England in Super Bowl XLII and ?completing one of the most remarkable postseason runs in professional sports history.? But as a life-long fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Murphy couldn?t bring himself to honor an NFC East rival: ?As a former 700-level security guard and lifelong Eagles fan, I couldn?t, in good conscience, vote for the New York Giants. The only thing worse would have been a resolution honoring the Dallas Cowboys.? Nothing like a p.o.?ed Philly fan to ruin someone else?s celebration Kinda lame, but kinda funny at the same time.
Wouldn't ron paul be one to vote against this? He voted against giving a medal of honor to Rosa Parks because he thought it was a waste of tax dollars.
He would probably be stalked down by a torch-wielding mob of Eagles fans and burned alive if he congratulated the Giants. Can't really blame him for protecting himself and his family. They should just build a giant steel barrier to keep them all in.
