This year wasn't just bad for penalties, it was atrocious.

    They led the league in:

    Total penalties: 150
Penalties against: 124 (doesn't include declined or off setting penalties)
Pre-snap penalties: 52 (tied with Cleveland)

This is a big regression from last year where they ranked 9th in fewest total penalties. I understand some of that is the constant shifting of QBs and offensive line personnel, but Saleh has got to turn this around. It cost the team games.

You can't make the playoffs with an undisciplined team. Saleh is already on the hot seat, but this needs to be a big focus next season.

Reed was great last year but he got absolutely diced up this year. He might not be a terrible cut/trade candidate and look to move MC3 outside or find another zone corner.

I may just spend the time to back over the season and take a look at just how many games penalties cost the team. I know, for certain, of one game where penalties were the direct result of missing out on FOUR scoring opportunities. Penalties are a direct sign of a lack of accountability and that is the single biggest glaring problem with Saleh. There seems to be ZERO accountability for players or coaches.

We could start with the KC game @mezzavo but then again the league loves to give their darlings all the calls.

I want to say around week 4, 5, or 6 the announcers said the Jets were one of the least penalized teams in the league.

They went total hold my beer and it was insane. Every good thing they did on offense was negated by a penalty during that multi game stretch without a TD.

I remember that, too. It was during the time when the Jets were getting great TV ratings, highest in the league.
