I saw he was listed at 344 pounds at the combine, which is plenty big enough to play NT, and he managed to run a 5.11 forty so he has to have some sort of athletisism. There might have been a topic about him on here before, but I don't remember if it was on this guy, does anyone know more about him?

He would make a decent NT in the later rounds I would think........

Also, Anthony Spencer performed pretty good with a 4.7 forty, and 30 bench press reps...... not many of the other DE prospects were able to come close to that number in benching........

Tim Crowder also drew my interest, 6-3 272 with a 4.69 forty and 32 bench reps.......

I just read a chat with Matt Williamson of Scouts Inc.

Take a look at this Q&A:

Steve (Bangor, PA): Who in the draft(any round) can come in and play NT in a 3-4 defense?

Matt Williamson: There is not a guy this year who I would pencil in as a future starter at NT in the 3-4. Those guys are becoming much harder to find and you can see teams like Clev overpaying for Ted Washington because they simply couldn't get anyone better.

Paul Soliai is a beast, I saw him play, I'm gonna take one of Lee Corso's lines from NCAA 07, "he doesn't just plug up holes, he plugs up the whole line..."

But also from that game a line about being a gentle giant should be used, inconsistent tempermant is not something you want in a nose tackle

Good read hydro. From I what I read in their, his weaknesses are all qualities that a 4-3 DT needs. As far as I know, a NT does not shoot gaps in the 3-4, but rather goes over the center to take both A Gaps. A NT is really just for run defense and stuffing the middle, so pass defending isn't as important as a 4-3 DT. It seems he just needs to get quicker, which is possible, and get better awareness, which is attainable though practice.

BUMP.... And another vote for Paul Soliai maybe with that 3rd round pick...

With the lack of players that fit the NT mold thought someone may reach for him.

I think this guy is going to go really high because of the dearth of size. He's a first day guy, but I could see him going in the second round out of the blue.
