The Foxboro' rehab center opens for business again. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...w-england-patriots?module=HP11_headline_stack Good signing for the Pasts, if he stays healthy.
So, is it expected that Stevan Ridley will be the starter next year? He looked mostly impressive when he got the carries last year.
Just a guess, but I could see him taking on the Kevin Faulk, receiver/blocker in long yardage situations. Veteran depth. They are pretty young at the position with Ridley and Vereen (Some say he's better than Ridley). Woodhead and a couple of FBs are the only other backs on the team right now. Unless he has more gas left in the tank than he was unable to show playing with the Colts and their woeful O-Line the last couple of years.
Addai is crippled. Are they really going to take away reps from guys like Ridley and Vereen? That is crazy, IMO.
Addai is great in pass protection, other than that he's no more than average in every other category.
Addai has gotten crushed over the last couple of years. He's well past his prime and will probably be finished half way into the season.
I doubt it. They have a great RB system, they can plug in any type of back and they'll produce. Ridley and Vereen will do just fine.
What do you think about Ridley and Vereen as being main running backs? I know Vereen turned into a great player in about year 3/4 of my madden franchise because that is relevant haha
Looking forward to Ridley, he had a nice rookie season in his limited action, Vereen, who knows. He was great in college, hasn't done anything yet in the pros.
Where is the love for BJGE coming from? He doesn't fumble and that's basically it for selling points. Woodhead and Ridley were both considerably better backs than him last year. I don't think Addai is better but he's probably on the minimum, BJGE got 9m over 3.
Addai has been done for a few years now. Good receiver out of the backfield, but I wonder why they didn't take a look at Ronnie Brown.
They (Pats) are supposedly very high on Vereen, who was set back by injury last year. I think for the type of running they do, these guys should be okay.
They're bringing in lots of depth at all the positions, probably to create some competition. If he gets playing time, he will have to earn it.
Nice pick-up, but nothing earth-shattering. I think this also means Kevin Faulk's phone is not going to ring anytime soon. There's enough depth at the position and they even have a couple of FBs on the roster right now. My guess is they go into the season with Addai, Ridley, Vereen, Woodhead, and one of the two FBs. BJGE was a very reliable player, but it's not like he was carrying the offense. Cincy gave him a shit-ton more money than he was going to get in NE.
I love how people on this board used to say BJGE was a mediocre back and just a product of the system, but once he signs with another team he becomes this quality back and it's gonna be a real blow to the Patriots
