Wow, is he infected by Tiki-itis?

I'm not going to miss him- he was one of the better RB I have ever seen. The guy had a spectacular nose for the end zone at the goal line. Maroney better be ready to step up.

Sorry DW but I will not miss his big ass running through our D-line. Surprising move by Dillon though.

He was a good one...Laurence Maroney should be a great starter for them next season.

He wasn't going to be on the Patriots next season regardless.

    Barlow to the Pats?

It seems like a move Belichick might make. He comes cheap, and if he performs well, it would really be a slap in the Jets face.

I understanding wanting to retire, but you don't need to be released from your contract to retire.

I don't think Maroney is going to be the unstoppable force everyone anticipates. I see him producing Ronnie Brown-like numbers rather than Clinton Portis-like numbers in his second year.

No one was more disappointed in Maroney in the 2nd half then me. That said, word is he was playing injured. I'll reserve my judgment for this season.

That was my first thought reading that article... maybe if he's released he gets money...

Dillon, who said he told some teammates before the season that 2006 was likely his last, hopes he has done enough to earn his place among the game’s greats in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

    umm, no.

I was very impressed by him the first time we played, but the second game showed me nothing and again in the playoffs he didn't stand out. Beyond that I only saw a couple of Pats games, both in between our 2nd and 3rd matchups, but I just didn't see what it was that people were raving about. Dillon worried me every time we faced him.

Dillon scared me more than Maroney last year.....Maroney is pretty overrated so far, he started off good but then crashed back to Earth....The patriots will def pick up a Barlow type rb

That won't happen. The Patriots only like to pick up veteran players that had success once.
