Shit...thats a good pick up for them. Springs is getting up there in age but he'll be a solid guy for them. Certainly an improvement.

    Fucking Patriots...

They would.. If I had to guess where Springs would sign, they would have been my first choice.

Nevertheless, it's a very solid signing. He's a terrific blitzer and will likely play both safety and corner for them.

lewis trade is probably mostly for depth, I can't see the patriots lining him up as the #3

The average age of half that defense is deceased. LOL Man they should come to Florida and live in Cemetary Village.

They are a win-now team. Why wouldn't they? I hate to see Pats get better.

I have no idea who Shawn Springs is but, because it's the Pats that signed him, I think it's safe to assume he'll be making the pro bowl next year.

The 3rd overall selection in the 1997 draft, he's had a good NFL career.

Shawn Springs has been great in DC. He was good in Seattle too. I hope N2K was kidding.

One season, these veterans the Patriots bring in will all break down at once. I will be the guy laughing my ass off when it does.

shawn springs is very good, to be honest for the coming year I'd rather have springs than Lito Sheppard. Now 2 or 3 years down the line is different, but in terms of skill and size I think Springs is still the better player

Ah I wouldn't say no chance.. We're very good up front on offense and should become even more effective now that the running game will play a bigger role. Leon is going to have a breakout season. As long as Clemens or Ratliff can prove to be at least solid game managers, which I believe is possible given what I've seen, we should have an decent offense.

Our defense is looking good too. We've replaced Eric Barton with Bart Scott and Ty Law/Dwight Lowery/Hank Poteat/David Barrett/Drew Coleman (wow, that's bad.) with Lito Sheppard. We should be even better on defense.

Throw in coaching as well. This team should be more agressive and smarter in 2009.

Do we have a great chance? Probably not. But despite what a lot of others say, this team has a solid chance this year.

The thing is though, they normally have young guys waiting in the wings behind the veterans. They generally do a good job of drafting for the future.

As much flack as Sheppard gets for being so hurt, Springs should get the same kind of flack too. Good corner when healthy but health is the concern

Im still shocked that he isnt a Cowboy though..........

They didn't make the playoffs. But since we didn't either, it wasn't as enjoyable.
