I was watching the CBS pregame show and saw the same guest that last year mentioned that the NFL was investigating that the patriots were using different frequencies and nothing ever came out of it. Well today, the same guest analyst said that the NFL has hired people who used to work at US embassies to find out about any wiretapping and spying going on are going to be monitoring the games to make sure that none of that goes on. One thing that he mentioned is that they will check to see if there will be any different frequencies being used and that the microphone and radio receivers are shut off for good when they are supposed to. Apparently the cheatriots were still talking to the brady past the allowed time before the snap. Let's see how well they play now with brady out and hopefully no more cheating. What team besides the patriots was mentioned for using different frequencies during games than those allowed by the NFL?

players have been complaining of the radio's not working correctly when the play the Patriots for years... since BB started there.

Its good to see this finally investigated, this team might as well hooked the players helmets up to a computer and put in the cheat code for invisibility, unlimited ammo, and God Mode - because they cheated to that extent. Fucking embarrassments.

The guest analyst also said that they are going to be checking the players equipment and shoes. You're right, that's probably the reason why.

Is there a link? I was pissed the media wasn't talking about this during spygate...

    Half way down
"The league also was reviewing a possible violation into the number of radio frequencies the Patriots were using during Sunday's game, sources said. The team did not have a satisfactory explanation when asked about possible irregularities in its communication setup during the game. "

They obviously did not want to make the patriots look too bad but no other team was accused of doing this. The league is probably trying to protect the integrity of the patsies SB wins.

thast already tainted... there is no protecting the fact that those three rings are not real and they are the only ***dynasty***, as opposed to a dynasty.

I guess, after watching today's game, the patriots still have another unfair advantage: the officials. There are threads about the questionable calls that went against the Jets, like the PI on Cotchery, the roughing the passer call on Pace which was nothing but BS and was no where near as bad as some of the hits Favre took with no calls. And then the patriots go through every game without ever getting called for holding. But then there almost never any threads or posts about questionable calls that went against the patriots. Who the heck do they know in the NFL?

The roughing the passer call on Pace is the reason why watching the NFL has become less fun for me these last two years or so. I know you want to protect the QB but come on.

I'm all for fair play, but you can't keep making excuses for not beating them. Sure we aren't going to get some of the calls to go our way. Our guys still have to get out there and win the game despite it all. If Eli Manning can do it in the Super Bowl, what is our excuse? We have none. Just have to play better football.

That story is a year old and nothing ever came from it. The fact is the league controls when the helmets are turned off and on.

Cassel's helmet went off today forcing him to take a time out. A conspiracy theorist could try to make something of that too.

look, it was borderline, but the league has been really consistent on this. Helmet to helmet is going to be called every time. No grey area for the refs.

They hired some techinical people who used to work at embassies to make sure that the helmets are turned off and to check for different frequencies being used. So, that's something that came out of it. They wouldn't have done that if it never happened. And the patsies got accused of doing and they had no explanation.

When was the last borderline call that went against the patriots. It almost never happens. I have seen exactly the same hit on the QB being called against the Jets but not against the patsies. When Clemens got hit last year and slammed to the turf so hard that he fractured his collarbone, there was no penalty. But the year before Brady gets hit exactly the same way and it was a penalty. I didn't notice a big helmet to helmet hit today by Pace. Maybe the helmets touched but there was no hit. How can you get your head out of the way when you are trying to take someone down.

Maybe they didn't explain because they didn't do anything and didn't feel any need to explain.

I'm not sure why we're posting a thread about an article from September of 2007. The helmet mike for the defense pretty much covers this anyway.

The thread is about the NFL trying to make sure that there is no communication to the QB after the michrophones nd receivers re supposed to be turned off and there are no different frquencies being That's new and it was first mentioned today. Sure, the patsies never have to explain anything. Bellichicken explanation that he misinterpreted the rules regarding the videotaping really shows how much you can take them at their word. So much, that Goodell destroyed all the tapes so that we would never know.
