This aint even a question. Their LB position isn't that bad with Barnett and Hawk. Why would they need another. Not too mention Sims is better than Ryans.

Their OL sucked as bad as ours. Give em Joseph.

Yes the loss of Mike Wahle was painful for them. They drafted AJ Hawk first round, so drafting another LB might not be the best idea.

even though they need more than 2 Linebackers....they only have 2 that are worth a #1 OR 2 rank on depth chart....

i know how bad that line is, but did you see the #4 string Gado play?...he did real well..so the line can't be THAT bad..

I really don't think they'd like to plug in two rookie starters at LB...

I like the idea of doing that...they'd be fast, explosive, and excited

    I disagree...strongly...

With Hawk and Barnett, they have two uber-linebacker prospects, the third is going to thrive without having to take on any attention. Davies and Diggs will be plenty for them.

Diggs was cut and Davies is poor... but if you believe that Davies will be able to step in fine then take Joseph. I'm just saying you could build a "super" LB core with 3 studs and just shut down opposing running games for 10+ years.

But you see, with Hawk and Barnett, they have two of the younger more explosive LBs in the game. Rookies are risks. There is no garuntee that both Ryans and Hawk will come in and play to their full potential. And it's not just about speed or "excitement", they have no playing experience whatsoever. It's a MAJOR risk starting two rookie LBs.

you're right...riskies are risks...so why only have ONE rookie LB?...

O-line is easier to draft in rounds 3,4,5....

It's easily Joseph. He has the quickest feet for an interior lineman in the draft and they run zone blocking don't they? It's a match made in heaven.

Or you could draft someone in the third or fourth or fifth or sixth or seventh round and have him come in. LB is one of those positions like Safety and Guard where you can draft them rather late and have them contribute.

    First off, whats a riskie?

If you meant rookies are risks, than why WOULD you gamble a ton of money on two rookies that play the same position? If they don't pan out, your Linebacking core is completely screwed. And even if by some chance both Hawk and Ryans pan out in the long run, you will still suffer greatly when you have two rookies starting at LB in a 4-3 defense.

But think about, what team has ever drafted a LB in the first and second round consecutivley? Yet alone a team with a top 5 pick.

The Bengals did last year and it worked out pretty well for them.

But they didn't have nearly as many holes as the Packers do.
