Not sure what it would mean for the Jets but...whatever....not like they had any defense at all....he was a 3 time pro-bowler though in 2008-2010 The #Packers have told S Nick Collins this morning that he will be released. The rest of the link is probably more important: The #Packers have told S Nick Collins this morning that he will be released. They are not comfortable with him playing again. Collins is still in the process of deciding whether he will play again, but the Packers told him they don't feel like he should return from having a single-level cervical fusion surgery. Collins has had his tests reviewed by five different specialists and it doesn't appear there's a consensus that the Packers feel it would be safe for him to play. He's probably not playing anywhere.
God damnit. Well I'm here for the Wisconsin opinion. When the Pack won everything, everybody was getting hurt except Collins. The D was still fine. Last year, it seemed like Collins was the only main guy on D hurt. That D was horrendous. That's how much of a difference he makes. If the Packers released him, it's because he won't be able to play.
He should be able to return from that. A fusion procedure ends up in a stronger neck, not a weaker one.
He's young. His contract is fine. His injury before last year was minimal. It's because his career is practically over. I cannot express enough the importance of his play in the SB run.
