It seems to me that too many peopl on this board are worrying about how the Jets can compete with the Patriots next season. I think it is important to realize that the Jets improved upon a playoff team. Last year, we were the 5 seed with no running game, little run defense, and Hank Poteat as a starting CB. I see no reason to be pessimistic about our playoff chances next year, and we shouldn't fault Tannenbaum and Mangini for playing in the same division as the Patriots, because this isn't an arms race. The Jets could easily go 10-6 next year, get the 5 seed, and win a couple games. Look what happened to the Steelers a couple of years ago.

With all of this in mind, I think Jet fans should be excited about the upcoming season. Besides, stranger things have happened than a team like the 07 Pats losing the division.
