happier times, can't believe this is 4 seasons ago already and that we haven't won in that building since.
Bum QBs don't play as well as he did over 2 postseasons, you can't find aother bum that won like he did, playing very good to.
A close second favorite part of that day behind the Bart Scott rant was LT's pre-game speech "Any man can be beat...but you have to be willing to die for it…I am".
"Cap hell" brother. We actually had a passing attack then. I didn't hate Holmes than, Edwards was making big plays and catching the ball; cotchery was cotchery, Tomlinson made catches. We lost a tackle, replaced him with a turnstile, even gave the turnstile a bonus. We lost Edwards. We lost Cotchery. We bumped Holmes up to #1 receiver and even made him a Captain. We bailed Burress out from Jail. We moved Shonn Greene to #1 running back. We went to the "black hole" with a 2-0 record, and lost by mere inches. We went into Baltimore on SNF or MNF (prime time) without Mangold at center. Sanchez, got crushed. We went to New England with Mangold still injured. Sanchez, got crushed. After that, Holmes started to have a meltdown, it got real weird and the team absolutely crumbled. We ended "captains" and it was just a weird follow up season from 2010. We had, maybe, one of the best defenses ever put together in 2012. We destroyed the Bills at home to open the season. Bart ran over Revis head. Revis missed the Steelers game, we lost. Revis played against Miami, Holmes may have had his best game a a member of the Jets. Revis tore every ligament in his knee and went out for the rest of the season, we beat Miami that day. Holmes would follow with an injury later in the season, throwing the football to the 49ers in a tightly contested game up until that point. The team faltered, "Cap Hell" ensued, we traded Revis, Holmes caught 20passes or so in 2013 we went 8-8. which pretty much brings us to where we are today. happy memories.
The best game I have ever been to, and it is becoming more and more clear that this was my superbowl.
Right there with ya man. Probably the happiest any game for any team has made me. Maybe the 2000 Mets making the WS but I was pretty young at the time. Cant believe the best team Im a fan of right now is the NY Islanders.
All three were very frustrating and the 2012 game probably wrecked any chance we had at having a decent season.
I am actually considering getting into hockey because of the franchise. It has just been a total emotional drain.
Ellis was a beast that game...then we treated him like shit and let him go to the Pats....lol j/k I know he asked for a little too much but damn...we love treating our guys like shit don't we.
We had a great team back then. Flacco/Sanchez type guys can win games with a D/running game/receivers like that.
Best game ever. The problem was many felt we won the superbowl. Team was like flat soda when playing Steelers in the first half because of it. I also remember Rex not being himself when talking about the Steelers before the game. He wasnt all hype and was careful with his words.
it's a harsh business, ask all those Pats that were let go of after they helped them win SBs. Ellis was at the end of the line though, I wish he didn't play in another uni but I am glad for him he got to play in a SB.
The last regular season win at foxboro was also a fun time. matt hits moss for that last second TD. The jets have 3rd and long in OT and Favre finds Keller to keep the drive alive. Jets win on a FG. Leon had a kick return touchdown also. Fun game, Thursday night game too.
