With Brees a Saint, our draft will depend heavily on what New Orleans does. The first pick will be Bush and the Titans will either pick a QB or D'Brick but who knows what the Saints do now. Our first round pick is largely dependent on what they do. If they go Hawk we can snag a good QB or trade down. However, more importantly, their second round pick could kill us. If they get Hawk with the first, then they are almost guaranteed to pick Mangold right before us. What do you all project they are going to do? I think they are going Hawk Mangold in the first two rounds.
Hawk and Mangold would be a very good 2 first rounds, I really dont think they can do any better than that. I also think our draft will be affected more by what we can get for Abraham then anything else. Because that dictates not only what we do this year, but next year as well
That is true. Abraham is probably more important, but I can just see NO screwing us out of who we want round after round after round...
D'Brickishaw will end up in N.O. Titans will follow by getting Leinart We have the option then to get Vince or Cutler
You really think New Orleans will draft OT first overall in two consecutive drafts? Especially when they moved up to get Brown last year? Because I don't. Their two biggest needs right now are LB and Interior OL, specifically center and they are in position to fill both of those needs with the best players at those positions. Plus, I hope to god we don't take Young or Cutler. On the bright side, I do agree with your Tennessee projection
Here's the perfect world scenario for me: 1. Bush to Houston 2. New Orleans takes AJ Hawk 3. Green Bay jumps the Jets, who they think will take Mario Williams(after what would be Tenn taking Leinart), and select him 4. Jets take Matt Leinart 5. Titans pick up 2nd rounder and still get Ferguson, who I think they really want.
Yeah I think that would be pretty amazing. Unfortunately I don't see why the Packers would want Mario because they got KGB and Kampman at the ends. If they don't get Hawk, I think they are going to look at Ngata or Vernon Davis. Best case scenario, they trade with NO for AJ Hawk, Titans grab D'Brick and we got Leinart. Unfortunately I can't think of any reason the Saints would want to do that unless they love Vince Young.
I was thinking that, but (depending on our first pick) I think it would be better to get Manny Lawson there and grab Eslinger or someone like that in the third round. Bottom line, I think we need to get OL, Pass rushing LB and NT in the first 3 rounds and I think we can with D'Brick, McNeil, Mangold, Winston, Justice and Manny Lawson and Ngata and Gabe Watson. How about these scenario? (assuming we get some kind of QB in a trade or FA) 1a. D'Brick 1b. Lawson 2. Gabe Watson -or- 1a. Ngata 1b. Mangold or one of the OTs mentioned above 2. Best available OT or pass rusher
I would like Ngata or Lawson as maybe 1a depending on how far we move down from 4. Gaining a second or more in the process to further get players. I think a rb, te, and/or corner will unexpectedly drop into round two and I would like to be in position to get a excellent prospect even if not at an absolute need position. Extra picks would allow the "luxury" pick of a guy just to good to pass up.
I see New Orleans trying to make a move down the draft. Probably down to 4. If the Jets get a 1st rounder for Abraham, I wouldn't be all that surprised if it's soon a Saints pick, with Matt Leinart donning a green jersey.
