He's had two major knee injuries, so his stock isn't as high as it could be. If he's there in the mid-rounds, he'd be a hell of a pick up. This team needs an all-around safety that can change the game with a crushing hit. He's one of the best tackling defensive backs in this draft. Most people see Ward as an in-the-box guy, but I think he's got better coverage skills than a lot seem to think. Fresno was recruiting him to play corner, and I believe he came to Oregon as a corner.

And as for Ward, I'm a big fan. To me he's a true Strong Safety, and like I said when I picked him in the mock he's a guy that can start from day one.
Interesting prospect. I'd love a safety who can just hit the shit out of people, we know Leonhard can't fit that roll. But yeah even more than that I think we need a safety who can cover, if he can cover effectively, then I'd totally love to draft him.
Sean taylor was gonna be a beast so sad that he isnt here, that kid ward looks interesting if he can truely cover then he would be terrific here because we definetly need a headhunter back there.
