15 yard penalty on Talid for "high stepping into the endzone"? That's a load of crap. How can high stepping be unsportsmanlike? C'mon. Talid should know better than to carry the ball in the wrong arm, though. They should teach all the players that.
Said that at the time in another thread. Another pick now, Kansas on top, but just that one score of a difference.
Kenny "Down Syndrome" Albert has already made two notable mistakes. 1)When the TE caught the ball and his helmet came off, Albert called it incomplete until finally correcting himself 20 seconds later. Apparently he can't tell the difference between a blue helmet and a brown football. 2)He said Glennon had thrown 2 interceptions,. False. He had thrown one and Taylor had thrown the other
bad job by Mangino right there. Instead of calling timeouts, he allowed Va. Tech to milk a full minute off the clock. You have to make sure you get the ball back with time. Bad bad job
just a bad job and way too conservative. if they have the ball and they're going to score, and there's just under 2:30 left, you manage it so you have time for a drive and then try to answer with a score of your own. Don't just sit on the ball because you happen to be ahead.
I'd like to see a replay, but on that return for a TD by VT, there was a pretty blatant block in the back when the guy who got the ball from the exchange started running in the other direction. The Kansas player went flying. How the officials missed that is beyond me. That's a huge screwup and that really hurts Kansas.
what a great punt by tucker. not only did he kick it well past the returner, but it bounced an additional 5 yards after that 63 yard punt. That's net too, because no return. Sick,
crazy break for Va Tech. Two Jayhawks in position for the pick but they both battle for the ball and it falls right onto the stomach of a VT player. Then the TE runs down the field and covers up the ball
If you had 3 TOs you kick it deep for sure. Too bad we wasted it on 8 seconds. I'd still have kicked it deep there though.
2 decision by VT I didn't like in 4th quarter: 1)The decision to onside kick it. Unless it's a surprise onside kick, I don't like doing it unless it's desperation because the odds of recovering are low. 3 minutes left and 2 timeouts. 2)They didn't stack the box to stop Kansas's running game on the ensuing drive, allowing Kansas to salt the game away.
It was a good game but man... VT f'n blew it. I agree that the coach was just horrible... very horrible. And with 2 TOs they should have just kicked deep. Even if they made the 3 and out they would have been in very bad field position. And their QB has shown he can't do crap from that deep. They also had a miss FG and the block FG. The QB was horrible. He missed consistently. And made some horrible throws, this guy should have had 5 INT or more. He got very luck in a few throws. Also the WR... drops drops drops... The one in the first half comes to mind. Should have been a catch for a TD but it slips right through his hands. After watching that game, VT don't deserve to be in that game as much as Kansas did. I would much rather see Missouri and Florida. Even though Florida lost to Michigan. VT sucks but I was rooting for them. I hate Kansas with a passion...
