    And it continues....

EA Tiburon has big plans for this year's installment of Madden, kicking things off with the announcement of online co-operative play - a first in franchise history.

For the first time, two players will be able to take their game online together with online co-op play in Madden NFL 10. Team up online with your friends, taking on different defensive and offensive positions, experiencing the game through all-new position specific camera angles.

Not only does this sound like an amazing new way to play Madden with your online football buddies, senior producer Phil Frazier makes an excellent point in the developer diary video below. Some of us are scared to go online with the game. Hell, I feel like an idiot when I try to lay against people who know the ins and outs of the series. Being able to team with someone who knows what they are doing is a great way to ease new players into one of the most competitive online communities in existence.

And online co-op is just the beginning, with the official announcement teasing us about more new online features being announced during Monday's E3 press conference. We'll be there, so technically so will you.

Don't know how I feel about this. Let's say I want to play ranked by myself. Can the other team have 2 players? If you are playing a team like Arizona the one guy will be Fitzgerald and just get open the whole game, it'll be fucking stupid.

I'm interested to see how they do, though. I will probably try it once or twice but definitely won't be a mainstay for me.

I have an issue similar to that with NHL. When I go to play online I always have to check and make sure the other guy doesn't have any "guests" on his team. When there are 2 human defensive players playing the BS video game defense (ie going ridiculously out of position to hit anything in an opposite jersey) it's a huge unfair advantage. Hopefully there will be some indicator for this as well so people aren't forced to play that way.

Yeah, I've stopped playing guests in that as well. The guest offense is ridiculous. One skates up the boards... other crashes the net... pass across... goalie has no chance. Those goals are so annoying.

Not interested in Co-op. I kick ass all by myself.

I actually don't have a problem with that because usually they either don't know how to stay onside or they are ridiculously predictable. It's the defense that pisses me off.

How will he get open if you play proper defense ? Not sure I understand you.. just read it again, makes zero sense.
