I do not post on the boards very often any more, mainly due to many of the homers, especially od the 15-20 year range wgo havent quite lived through the many mistakes in jets history as I have, and how many older Jets fans haved through even more. Here is the bottom line. The NY jets have not had a player on their team who was able to change the oppositions game plan week in and week out since Al Toon. For those who who start screaming keyshawn this and Vilma that, you have no idea what you are talking about. John Abraham had the ability to change a game al by himself he IS that good, yes I know he has had injury issues, many of which were blown out of proportion, but he was the first play for the jets had Since Al Toon that was able to change and scare gameplan of the opponet and change the game all by him self since Al Toon! For you homers that start ploting and planning on who we might use hat #29 on, let me tell you, this will go down as one of the darkest days in NY Jets History! THIS IS A VERY BAD DAY TO BE A JETS FAN!

Bye bye Abe don't let the door hit you on the way out.

By the way anyone find it funny how Abe refused to play for a team who was just in the Super Bowl? I know he has his ties to Atlanta but come on.

You kidding? This was a great move. There's plenty of easy talent that could take Abe's place. And also one who won't be a pain in the ass and isn't injured half the time. Two first picks for us!

I agree with you about Abe but I don't know about Al Toon though. Toon was a great Jest and one of my all time favorites in fact but I think Wesley Walker with his speed struck more fear in the hearts of our opponents than Toon.

Wow.. we traded a guy with 2 substance abuse strikes , this my opinion was a big

reason why a long term deal was never pushed last year. With the transition

to a 3-4 D I am doubtful Abe can read and drop back for coverge also reason

why. The last the "2004 Mother Fing playoffs"..The guy has no heart and

drive to win a championship..Watching that shit changed my opinion of him..

Why would you want a player like that around though? He is a selfish prick that only wanted his cash. He is a great DE, but I have no regrets on him leaving...

All that playoff stuff is BS...I don't like Abe as much as the next man, but he was not healthy enough to play in that game.

Change a game by himself? JAbe had the ability to change a whole season by himself. The guy couldn't play the run, was a very undisciplined player, and put the team in jeopardy because of it. He played russian roullette on every play. He'd put his head down and rush the pocket. He never held containment. I still remember him blowing containment against the Fish a couple years ago, allowing Fiedler to get outside of him, score a TD and bust Donnie Abraham's shoulder up in the process.

shows how much abe cares about winning....choosing ATL, who at best are a wildcard team(bc the panthers are way better) over seattle who is basically a guaranteed lock to win their division again(aka home playoff game)/defending nfc champions......he must really love his family

Abe would have NEVER have been worth the headache's he's already caused. Sometimes, it is better just to let go. Good bye, Abe, and good riddance.

Precisely. How would it be a positive for the team to hand a brand new,first-time head coach an unhappy, disgruntled player who doesn't want to be there? The smart, progressive move is to cut ties ASAP and get the best deal possible. I guess section331drunkendumbass would rather keep him here out of spite, evn though it would ruin any type of team chemistry.
