http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/02/14/raiders-hire-rod-woodson-as-defensive-backs-coach/ One of the best defensive backs in NFL history is about to start coaching the defensive backs of the Oakland Raiders. Hall of Famer Rod Woodson has been hired as Oakland’s defensive backs coach, the Raiders announced today. For new Raiders head coach Hue Jackson, that’s a huge name to add to the coaching staff. There are few men more respected around the NFL than Woodson, an 11-time Pro Bowler who played 10 years for the Steelers, one for the 49ers and four for the Ravens before finishing his career with the Raiders in 2002 and 2003. But it also seems like a little bit of a head-scratcher, as Woodson has always seemed completely content as a father, husband, youth sports coach and NFL Network analyst. The rigors of NFL coaching will presumably change Woodson’s life significantly. Woodson already lives in the Bay Area, however, which makes it easier for him to take the job without too big of a disruption to his family life. And Woodson isn’t known for doing something if he’s not committed to doing it right. So the Raiders appear to have pulled off a major coup for their coaching staff.
Woodson is a biased assclown....outside of Michael Irvin, Woodson is the worst analyst on NFLN. So in a nutshell, this is excellent news.
I thought this thread would be about a reporter saying something nice about the Jets, but this news is just as good.
I watched NFLN for the first time since the season ended this weekend, saw some of the Sound FX marathon, had the Jets-Bengals Thanksgiving game featured and there was a half hour Best of Rex Ryan. That occupied part of one Sunday. Man, the off season is going to suck, this is the worst time of the year.
he always sucked our secondarys cock(because revis) dont really remember him saying negative shit about the jets. unless you count him picking the steelers over the jets.
he always loved Nnamdi over Revis because he knows Nnamdi personally. We all know Revis is better than Aso and yet Woodson never admitted to it. I'm not going to miss Woodson's analysis. Adam Archuleta has been kicking ass in his debut. Smart dude.
As an analyst, he came across as opinionated and pompous. And when it came the Jets, the opinions were never pro.. He also despised Favre, and almost went as far as attacking him personally. I'm not a huge Favre fan, but felt Woodson was borderline unprofessional, and a pretty shitty analyst. So i'm happy not to hear him anymore..
I think it was when we got Favre that his anti-Jets shit went full throttle, and he never backed down from it thereafter. So glad he's gone. Now bring back Lincoln Kennedy! LOL!
