So I'm watching the Browns/Broncos game, and the Browns look even easier than the Lions. I know that Denver is on a much higher level than either the Jets or Browns, but the Jets have more talent on both sides of the ball. Sure our D will give up a couple of late TDs to Charlie Frye, but I think Mangini will have the guys fired up to play against one of his former mentors.
Jets should be able to go into Cleveland and win. Watching this game, they actually look alot better than I thought for a 1 win team. But the jets should win this game, either way.
The Browns cannot be overlooked. They will be 1-5 and at home. They will be looking for a win for their home crowd. This is not a give me win at all. Could go either way. With the way the Jets have played, I am not even sure they should be favored. Maybe Jets at Browns (-1). Just my opinion.
(I am watching the game as well.) The Broncos have a terrific defense, so Cleveland was bound to struggle. Frye is a decent QB and he has Winslow, Edwards and Jerevicius. I think the key will be stopping the run early. Droughns is a north-south run, exclusively. He runs hard straigh into the hole and doesn't have too much "wiggle". I imainge the Browns game plan will start with running it right down the Jets throat. The Browns also have a decent return game. As for their defense, it looks like they lost Baxter (#1 CB) today and they have McGinest, but, overall, their defense doesn't look all that intimidating. One LB the Jets will have to keep an eye on is, the rookie, Kamerion Wimbley. He is quick and made a handful of plays today.
The Jets will have to be favored. No way will a 4-3 team not be favored over a 1-5 team, no matter where it is played.
Yeah I know man. No way it happens. Just saying that is what I would do. I don't know why I feel this way, but I do.
Yeah, road games against one win teams who are better than their record are always dangerous. But I think we match up well against them. And this Cribbs guy (#16) looks like he could be next week's Furrey. But I think this team can overcome that.
I wouldnt be surprised if the browns won.. This is one of those games where you should win, but you just dont.
The way we are playing right now I can see us winning this game in a similar way we won the last this Lions game. It would be nice if we were at home however
Hey now, we are being too negative over here. The Jets are a better team than Cleveland. The Jets will win this game, all I am saying is it won't be easy.
We SHOULD win the next game but it could go either way.. the browns are not that good a team but they can play quite a good game
I really was a big fan of Crennel when he was the coordinator in NE im very suprised hes not doing a better job as a head coach.
He had alot of good personnel movement at the start of the season i thought he would be performing better
McGinest was a big pick-up and so was Bentley. Unfortunately, Bentley was lost for the season before it began. It seems like on offense their O-line struggles and Frye needs more time (it's his first year as a starter). Their defense, meanwhile is non-descript. Assuming Frye matures and the defense gets a few more playmakers, it is conceivable that they make a jump next season. Let's just hope it is not next week.
Browns were installed as a 3 point favorite. We've beaten Tennessee, Buffalo, Miami, and Detroit and lost to New England, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville. Cleveland lost to New Orleans, Cincinatti, Baltimore, Oakland, Carolina, and Denver, and they beat Oakland. They should have beaten Baltimore, too. Give them our schedule, they're probably 3-4. We haven't beaten anyone yet. Neither has Cleveland. Are they better than us? Chances are, no, and we should beat them, even in Cleveland, but any game against Cleveland in Cleveland is a dogfight (no pun intended).
Pennington is the perfect QB for our schedule. Very few mistakes and he beats bad teams up. Road games are always unpredictable but Pennington wins these type of games.
Im sure the jets will be favored. I was surprised that the Broncos were only favored by 4.5. I really couldnt understand that -- I was pretty sure that the Browns werent going to score. I guess the question was -- whether the broncos would score. Any game on the road is tough. The Browns are decent. I think this will be a tough one and i had penciled in one loss from the Miami, Det, Browns game. I think going in to the bye at 5-3 would be tremendous ESPECIALLY with the Pats and Bear greeting us on our return.
The Broncos were only 4.5 point favorites because they are averaging about 13pts per game. Last week they were favored by 15 points against Oakland after averaging 12 points per game coming into the game and only won 13-3. I think oddsmakers have figured out that Shanahan is content with doing just enough to win and therefore gameplans accordingly.
