Presumably replacement for Thomas. No idea what Jones is like.

he opened eyes in camp. I was disappointed when he was cut and thought he'd be picked up immediately. It doid not happen and now he is on our roster. I like his speed and athleticsm. Very intense player and can rush the passer.

Jones is not Thomas' replacement. He's just taking that roster spot. He'll be a special teamer.

Maybin, Westerman, and Mauga will get reps in BT's old spot.

Will most likely not take over for Thomas, but has some skill. Was a 5 star recruit coming out of High School and was a pretty good player when he could stay healthy at Texas.

Injuries are a big issue with him.
(BTW, I drafted him for the Dolphins in the 7th round of the annual TGG mock draft back in April!)

the only thing i remember about eddie jones from the pre season was that he is really fast, but looks like a d lineman.

He is a really fun player. Smart, all out special teamer, really good motor, and good speed and power. At worst he'll be a standout special teamer. He has some upside.

Yeah, he'll take Westerman's role on ST while Westerman takes BT's role on D.

I like the move as I think Jones can be a beast on ST. This also has something to do with McIntyre being concussed all week... and might end up being a 1 week thing. Still, I was high on Jones after the pre-season and I'm happy the CS feels the same way I do (even if I don't understand why he wasn't offered a position on the PS straight away).

Any infusion of speed on this D is a welcome thing, even if it's a guy who most likely will only be a special teamer for now.
