Sick of all these doom and gloom threads. This is the criteria; - You can choose any 5 players to make our team better, from either the 2014 draft, (Our draft position is 10) or players that are hitting FA or players you believe that could be up for trade. (Try and make it realistic, so no taking Peyton or Brady. GENO is our #1 QB. Please don't turn this into another Geno is shit thread) You are Idzek for an entire week, get those deals done!
trade a third for Blackmon right now. make a run at Jimmy Graham in Free Agency draft- Safety, WR, Guard, Pash Rushing OLB to replace Pace
Sign WR Jeremy Maclin and Brandon Tate in FA trade Holmes Sign FA Devin Hester to return punts Draft a TE in round 2 or see what Olsen has left in tank Sign SS Donte Whitner in FA draft a FS in draft in round 3 If not Whitner Pollard maybe Draft a RB in round 1 Take a look at Brian Orakpoo Draft a LG Cut Ducasse,Gates We will finally have some cap room to play with so this isnt unrealistic
attempt to sign wilkerson and cumberland.... draft - heavy dose of OT/OLB/WR/RB/CB - not necessarilty in that order. do think the jets have to start thinking about life after ferguson and mangold.
So many fans on this site love to tank the season for a draft pick. That is probably the dumbest thing a fan can wish for. This is football; injuries run rampant, draft busts run rampant, the ball shape bounces many funny/and not so funny ways. Dig in deep and wish for the worst draft pick available.
Trade a second rounder for Josh Gordon. Trade a third rounder (throw in fourth if necessary) for Justin Blackmon. Pay Jimmy Graham whatever he wants to come here next year. Pay Ben Tate to come here. Pay Brian Orakpo to rush the passer.
Why would the Jaguars trade their young top of the first receiver for a 3rd. Tate Graham and Orakpo would break the cap for sure even with cutting Cromartie, Sanchez and Holmes.
Blackmon can be had, they were shopping him two-three weeks ago. Why would that have changed. A 2nd or third could get it done.
Cut: Sanchez, Holmes, Gates, ducasse Paycut: wilson, harris...if either refuses cut/trade them Draft Philosophy: BPA for every pick. Even if it's not particularly a position of need Free agency...Consider acquiring 1 of each tier in each category RB: Tier 1: Ben Tate, MJD, Leshoure, Tier 2: Beanie Wells, Montario Hardesty, Peyton Hillis, Javon Ringer, Kevin Smith WR: Tier 1 Dwayne Bowe, Hakeem Nicks, Tier 2 - ramses barden, Early Doucet, Devery Henderson, Laurent Robinson, Josh Cribbs TE: Tier 1: Tony Moeaki, Tier 2: Jake Ballard, Kevin Boss, LB: ayanbadejo, sergio kindle, DB: rhodes, madieu williams, both trufants
Parcel up all our draft picks and offer a massive contract to any already-established franchise QB that will bite. I'm not convinced we'll ever be out of limbo relying on the crap-shoot that is the draft. /Tanny
Extend Mark Sanchez again. Guarantee most of the new deal. Give him starting job back with no competition. Just kidding.
cuts: sanchez, gates, ducasse *we keep holmes, i know holmes is a dick, but he really is our most talented WR. if we get more talent around him, we'll only get better. restructure: cromartie, he's having an off year so it only makes sense. i would suggest working on david harris's contract, but he's having a monster year. it won't work signings: james jones, desmond bishop, jarius byrd, jeff cumberland trade: trade a 2nd round pick for either josh gordon or justin blackmon. i don't think blackmon is still on the market, but if gordon is, you do that trade in a heartbeat draft: RD 1, pick 12 (random guess of where we pick)- Mike Evans, WR from Texas A&M. I think he's a legit number 1 in this league, he reminds me a lot of vincent jackson. He has good hands, uses his body extremely well, and is a big target trade up into the 2nd round using one of our 3rd round picks and a later pick. Using that pick we select Zach Ebron, TE from UNC. He is an extremely athletic TE that's more of a receiver than anything. With him being paired up with a better zach sudfeld (hopefully) and jeff cumberland, we can run a lot of 2 TE sets and be extremely effective with it. Geno seems to like the TE so it's good and we'll be set for a long time RD 3: Corey Moore, safety out of Georgia. Good football player, could help our secondary. I always like the players coming out of the SEC concerning defense too, sometimes they might not be flashy but they play good football
Please no trading picks...if anything stock pile them. With the new CBA a great draft can really make a team without breaking the bank.
