I'm so sick of all these people hoping that Miami wins. Its a bunch of crap. You are not a real fan no matter how you try to justify it. And I'm convinced there are people on here that actually hope we lose just to say "I told you so". Why do you even watch then? Even ouchy and nyjunc who would choose death over choosing Favre over Pennington for a team are going to be cheering for the Jets to beat down the Phins (I assume). All this complaining and quitting on the Jets is embarassing. The garbage Red Sox fans stuck with their team for 86 years before a World Series. The Cubs, the Leafs, etc. People have it much worse than us. It is my opinion that we always find a way to lose and we're a garbage franchise. But at the end of the days, its OUR Jets. We live and breathe green and its the life we chose. And when that day of trimuph comes it will be that much sweeter. Pats losing or the Ravens losing, stranger things have happened. And regardless of what happens in those games, how the fuck you would want the MIAMI DOLPHINS to win in NY, is beyond me. You suck. And Joey Porter is a douche, I hope someone craps on him. And all these "we don't deserve to go the playoffs". WTF?! Miami deserves to go if we beat them down on Sunday and NE or the Ravens lose?! Anything can happen in the playoffs, so fuck it. Lets go Jets! Beat down the Dolphins and end Pennington's season like every other season he's been a part of. Watching the Super Bowl on TV.
I was one of the people that originally said I'd root for the Dolphins. But that was before I realized that a Ravens loss and a Jets win gets the Jets in. We all know the Patriots are not losing but there's hope that Jax pulls it out. So I'll be rooting for the Jets. But after the Pats win, if the Ravens start blowing out the Jags, I'll be rooting for the Dolphins. Better to get the Jets a better pick and get the Dolphins into the playoffs instead of the Pats. If that makes me not a REAL Jets fan then whatever I don't really care.
You're not a real Jets fan if you're making threads about people not being real Jets fans. Stop trying to mask your own problems by casting it on everyone else.
There's a difference between being suffering as a Sox fan and a Jets fan. They only have one team to suffer with. Here in NYC there's a team that has been winning football games and championships for a few decades now and it's not the Jets. So we have to watch them and their fans with envy. We have to see the media gush over them. We have to bear the anguish of a Jets team that cannot flourish in prosperity. They seem to crumble under their own weight. Therein lays the difference. The Jets have only once had a real football mind at the helm - Tuna - Tannenbaum, it remains to be seen, may also be that football mind, but he has to first do what is right by the team if Mangini is not the guy for the job.
Its not so much Miami winning as it is Chad getting his revenge against those sack of shits we call a coaching staff. He daggers us and there's a better chance Mangini and co are out on there sloppy asses. Lets get Cowher.
This is one of my favorite posts since I've been frequenting here. I hate the 'Fish. I hate their fans. I hate Marino. I'd punch him in the mouth if I ever met him. I can't stand that loud mouth Joey Porter either. The OP is indeed a Jets fan. He is frustrated, pissed, disappointed, gassed, etc. like the rest of us. But he still has love for the Jets. We all do, that is why we post here. And I sure could never root against my team. Now I wish some of the players and coaches on the field had that kind of guile and actually showed it on the field.
I'd sooner slide down a razorblade banister into a tank of lemon juice before I'd root for Miami to do anything other than fall off the the continent and float into Venezuela, with Eric Mangini on the edge dangling his chubby little piggies in the ocean when it happens.

I want the Jets to make the playoffs, and since we can't be eliminated until either after our game or after the Ravens game ends, I'll be rooting for the Jets. But if we can't get in, I'd rather lose to the Dolphins than beat them and have the Patriots get in.

Absolutely true regarding the Fins and Patsies. But knowing the Jets, the Pats will lose. and the Jets will then blow the game against Miami. Wouldn't that be the microcosm of the Jets?
