Akeem Ayers is a monster. He just had a stretch of three out of four snaps in a row for the UCLA defense making a big play. Recovered a fumble, then after they got it back was in coverage on 1st, 2nd down laid a pop on KSU's talented back Dan Thomas, and 3rd blitzed, bulled the tackle into the QBs face, tipped the pass and nearly picked it. Gary Gray for Notre Dame has been outstanding in the first half, very physical. Janoris Jenkins also stepped up big for the Gators earlier today, really quick and not afraid to hit people.
This guy from Michigan, Denard Robinson, is looking beastly. He's a QB in the Pat White mold (oh brother - but not a surprise because their coach is Rich Rodriguez) but looks to be a little bigger and perhaps faster. He's already got 100 yards rushing in the first quarter against UCONN and also has a pretty lively arm, but really hasn't gone deeper than 15 yards or so.
Was about to post him in WW85. He reminds me of exactly like Brandon Graham of Mich last year where he tore of the Irish O-Line early in the year. I don't know if he will tear the combine up like Graham did but he really works an RT out big time. Could be a great 2nd round pick for any team. He has a great motor. Kerrigan really opens up and makes O-Lines double him at times and lets other teammates get in for sacks.
Totally agree Baker....I really like Kerrigan. I predict he will be a 3-4 OLB, has decent coverage skills and is a relentless passrusher. Kerrigan has a non-stop motor, doesn't have the elite athletic ability of a round 1 prospect. He just makes plays!!
Even though he isn't eligible for this draft, when Te'o leaves ND, I hope he can somehow become a Jet taking Harris leaves. He is in EVERY play and wraps up great tackles. He has a great feel for the game and is showing leadership in every game I see of his.
Alabama's Julio Jones made an absolutely ridiculous catch against San Jose State. For those who didn't see it, he made a diving one handed catch for a touchdown. Arkansas QB Ryan Mallett is having a damn good game tonight.
I love watching Jaquizz Rodgers of Oregon State, I remember when he pretty much single handedly took down USC when he was a freshman, that was a great game. The little guy reminds me of Leon in he is a guy who needs to play in space, but man he is dynamic when you get him there. I don't claim to know if he can play in the pros do to his size, but god is he electric to watch
Fresno State defensive end Chris Carter had a hell of a game tonight with 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. I think he'll be a 3-4 OLB in the NFL.
Have to say the kid Demps for Florida looks an immense talent , his speed is scary. Once he turns the corner he is gone. Not a great expert on the college game and we have only just started getting live coverage of 4 games in the UK so sorry if I have just stated the obvious!! Also that QB for Florida... it was always going to be difficult to follow Tebow and I know the snaps were poor but he looks average at best.
That was the first start of his career. Brantley has all of the physical tools needed to be a big time player at Florida. I think we're going to see a lot of adjustments made by Meyer and his staff - Florida is too talented to play so poorly. They'll get straightened out.
I'm already worried about the pounding PSU might take next week at Bama. It might be downright nasty. Especially if Ingram is back. I think JoePa needs to get his head examined for setting this up, but I guess this was in the makings 3 or 4 years ago.
I'm a Florida alum so I've seen A LOT of these two. Demps to me will never be a real threat as an NFL player. I've seen a lot of guys like him. He has speed but very little instincts as a player. He could end up in the Olympics as a sprinter someday. He won the NCAA title in the 100m with an insane 9.96 in June and was close to qualifying for the US team in the 08 Olympics. As for Brantley, he will be the best pro QB to come out of Florida in the modern era. He's a natural passer. Just watch this year how his leadership skills develop. The snaps weren't his fault. Pouncey isn't his brother, lmao. After a few that's going to get in a QB's head. He was focusing a full second to make sure he had the ball before going on with the play. Can't do that and have much success.
My concern is the play calling right now. Meyer needs to dust off the Alex Smith Utah playbook b/c he finally has a pure pocket passer.
