Whoa. Pitt is trailing by 10 with 5:23 remaining at home vs Bowling Green.

Michigan is absolutely garbage and my bias isn't even needed here, they should be down by 3 TDs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)?Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer was beaten at his own game.

Just when it appeared ?Beamer Ball,? was about to bail out a sluggish offense again on Saturday, it was East Carolina, not the Hokies, who came up with the big special teams play.

And after T.J. Lee returned his own blocked punt 27 yards for a touchdown with 1:52 left in a 27-22 upset win over the 17th-ranked Hokies, Beamer and Hokies were stunned.

?It hurts to lose on a blocked kick at the end,? Beamer said.

Now Beamer knows how so many of his opponents have felt, as the Hokies lost for the first time in 18 games that they blocked a kick. Even a defensive touchdown wasn?t enough as Virginia Tech?s hopes of returning to a Bowl Championship Series game took a big hit on opening weekend.

?There?s no excuse for that,? Beamer said of Lee?s block.

Yeah, well, that's just like your opinion, man.

The line was Va Tech by 9.5 and they were ranked, so it qualifies as a noteworthy upset.

I called ECU beating them a few days ago. It was too obvious. VT is so overhyped.

The ACC is an embarrassment. They had to expand and di so at the expense of basketball but at least if football became great it would have been worth it but football is worse than ever. It's a complete joke.

How long does Tommy Bowden keep his job? the man can NEVER win a big game, NEVER! Clemson has always had a good program, get some new blood in there that can win some big games.

    Relax.

Miami will show why the ACC is the best when they go to Gainesville next week....GULP!!

Anyway, it really was pathetic. I know Virginia was going to lose, but 52-7? Butch struggling with McNeese State? VaTech losing to ECU?

And the WAY WAY overhyped Clemson Tigers just completely dominated by Bama...

    What a pathetic performance.

Bingo.... you know the conference is a joke when Wake Forest has a better team than FSU and Miami. What does it say when USF and UCF are outrecruiting Florida State? It may just be me but I bet BYU or Utah could win the ACC title. You give me any ACC team at Rice Eccles or Lavell Edwards and I'd bet a ton of dough that Utah and BYU are favored.

It's becoming pretty apparent that Utah is a big time program. Don't be surprised if they run the table and end up back in a BCS Bowl Game. The unfortunate thing though is they'd find the worst BCS imaginable like the ACC team or Notre Dame to take a beating like Pitt did a few years ago.

The ACC is very, very weak this year. But in the past, VT, FSU, UM, BC, WF, and Clemson were all very good and were consistantly ranked in the top 25. i wonder what happened

Miami has had a down run...Every team has had them, but I guess everyone forgets with USC, Ohio St., Penn. St., UCLA since they get so much recognition...But those teams had some very down seasons...

Michigan seems to be heading downward as well, for at least a season...But it happens.

Miami will be back with the recruiting class they just had, just will take a couple seasons.

There are excellent historical football programs in the ACC but since coming together it just hasn't worked out. It's not long ago that Miami and FSU were the premiere programs in CFB and VT was one of the top. If those programs were at their old levels it would elevate the teams around them and programs like UVa, GT, UNC, NC State would get back to being GOOD programs and the conf wuld be good again but Bowden needxs to go(both of them really) at FSU, Miami needs a new coach and I don't know what has happened to Beamer.

Miami needs a new coach after 1 season...That's a great way to rationalize that.He just had the #1 recruiting class according to ESPN and he's actually keeping the best players down south...

I expect better from you junc.

ESPN's prospect ratings is junk, both rivals and scout are better.
