Well, alot of people were inclined to give Schottenheimer Jr the benefit of the doubt when we had Chad here but in his first game with Favre we saw one of the biggest turtles on offense. 13 point lead and 2 dominant drives in the 3rd quarter and once we hit the 4th all we saw were 3 3 and outs with a few swing passes and runs up the gut. Let the Dolphins back in the game and the Jets were very fortunate to win after this pathetic display. Is this what the Jets brought Favre to NY to do? So they could play scared with a 13 point lead in the 4th quarter against a bad team?
well to be fair, Favre doesn't have the whole playbook yet, so towards the end of the game the Dolphins started to do a better job anticipating what we were going to do. The offense is only going to get better once the line gels and Favre picks up more of the playbook.
No PK. Decent Running Game. We ended on a win. I don't care if shotty was screwinga goat at half time, at least he got the win this week.
The short passes were not working all game, it's when they went down field that they were able to move the ball through the air. I don't think it was a case of him not having the play book either. They threw 3 passes on those last 3 drives and none of them were over 4 yards.
Overall I thought the gameplan was fine...smart. Let Farve air it out a bit early to get them out of the box and then run it down their throats and wear them down in the heat while running the game clock down. That said, I hated the 3rd and 7 run call! If Woody hadn't been penalized on the previous play, that play never happens cuz Jones had the first down
Where the hell was Dustin Keller? If you are going to throw short passes late in games, at least throw them to a guy that can do something after the catch.
why give NE a sneak peak on tape...... i assume the playbook will be a bit thicker come next week. jil
Cotch, Washington, Coles, Stucky, and Keller can do things after the catch. The facts are that we did not do much. I don;t blame it all on play calling.
