This Kellen Clemens hype is extremnely irritating. Why does everyone think he is so great? Yea he only played a little, yea it was only preseason, yea it was against 2nd and 3rd stringers but man he looked awesome! Give me a break, you guys are making it sound like last might's game was the superbowl and Clemens is our leader.

Did you have a bad day? Anyway, we need some positive on this board and Clemens played very well for a rookie.

Haha. Actually I had a good day I just don't understand how people read so much into a preseason game. I dont care if hes 14-14 for 4 td's,its apreseason against 2nd and 3rd stringers.

Why do you have to post a thread about this? There is already a thread to display your opinions about him....

He played pretty well and people are happy about it.

I don't see anyone putting him in Canton yet.

Considering the fact you have Pennington as an avatar I can sense that last night you saw a rookie look more poised, effective and comfortable that our beloved Chadwick. I agree that we shouldn't label Clemens the "savior" yet but if last night was a microcosm of his career I would be very happy.

Good. More room for the true believers.

Clemens had the best numbers out of the 3 QB's who played last night and it was only the first game. I was impressed with his arm strength and he made a couple nice throws to Newhouse and Cotchery. Hopefully this is the start of more good things to come from Kellen.

Don't try to hop back on.

People look toward the younger players when the near future of their team is steeped in uncertainty. People have seen what Chad can do when healthy, but have seen him unhealthy much more of the time and it seems most are giving up hope for him. And I guess it doesn't help that Ron Jaworski has an orgasm on national television every time someone mentions the name Kellen Clemens.

Personally, I do not blame most people for giving up on Chad, although I am not personally going to. Patience has always been in limited supply in every aspect of our lives.

although i agree with what you're saying, Pennington is a R1 pick at 30 years-old, and has yet to prove anything (besides one year). how much patience do you really want?

for a team that's building for the future, Pennington (as much as i love the guy) shouldn't be in the equation.

    cheers

    Here's a thought regarding Clemens:

He was 7-10 passing in the first half.

1 incompletion was a spike to stop the clock
1 incompletion was the Cotchery end zone fade(beautiful delivery)
1 incompletion was the pass thrown to the ground as there was nothing open in the end zone.(this probably being his most impressive attempt in my book).

He finished 10-14 for 92 yds. Sure this doesn't make him a savior, but this kind of accuracy and moxie is something to be proud of regardless of which string it was against.

It isn't hype it is hope! I want to see the Jets win a SB, there is only 1 QB on the roster who may be able to do that and that's Clemens. He may turn out to be a complete bomb but at least there is a possability the team will be in better hands with him than it is today. This is the Jets, chances are that Clemens will be no better than Chad and the Jets will again have failed to secure a franchise QB that could lead them to a SB.

Clemens is merely a lottery ticket in our wallets for next weeks draw. Chances are we will be a dollar poorer than we are now. In the meantime we can dream we hit it and you would have to be blind not to have at least realized that after one game he is capable of making throws that Pennington can't even dream of.

If he threw 2 picks on Friday, I'm sure the people who are teling everyone to calm down would be calling him a bust right now.

Clemens does well playing with first team vs Bucs 2nd and 3rd string.. We have our QB of the future!

Rookie O-linemen can't run block (44 total yards rushing) and can't pick up a blitz. 3-4 defense using a NT (Robertson, 0 tackles and 0 assisted tackles) and LB'er (Vilma 0 tackles and 2 assisted tackles) who are poor fits for a 3-4.....

Well, its only preseason, means nothing.

Clemens looked good in the preseason game against 2nd and 3rd strings. No one said he is going to get us to the superbowl or that Clemens is our leader but we hope he can in the future.

Clemens is not over hyped, we know he is a rookie QB and that he has a lot to prove.

What you said sounds like you don't want him to be a good QB, Do you not want him to be great?

CLEMENS looked more like a QB and leader then CHAD did. The whole team seemed to pick up when KELLEN came in the game. With CHAD is was more powder puff passing at a 5 yard clip! Teams do not win championships that way! The QB must keep the defense honest so the run game will work too! CHAD can not keep the defense honest at this time. I hope he does but to dump on CLEMENS is ridiculous!

Or maybe people are excited about the fact that we may have a guy to take over for our injury prone and perhaps already injured starter. WHat should we do, have a "Clemens sucks until he proves otherwise" attitude and darkside him like you are? Sorry that some people here are looking up at the prospect of improvement instead of wallowing in a stew of shit and looking at the negative side of everything.

What pisses me off are noobs that come around here trying to shit on everyone's parade, thinking they are actually contributing to the site.
