Okay this is something that I want to see if the fans would accept or be happy about. Its a totally different mock then what I've been seeing. Here I go Trade Revis- bucs 13th and 3, 4th rounder(Im not oppsed to trading revis this is just a scenaro I was thinking about.) 1(9) Geno Smith 1(13) Tavon Austin 2-Jamie Collins or top OLB/Pass rusher 3-Kelce 3-Steadman Bailey 4-Safety(Thomas, Rambo, Williams- Best safety available) 4-OLB- Michael Buchanan or best OLB available 5-OG-Watford or best OL availableOLB 6-RB-take best rb not taken. deep rb class so I have a feeling a good one will drop 7-CB Josh Johnson Rebuilds the offense and will put points on the board. I have the confidence in Rex to put a good defense on the field with whoever he has. I know there would be some holes on Defense put I wouldnt mind drafting a safety in the fourth to go along with Bush and allen. Also I would like to sign Landry in free agency, we still have some money left over. Revis trade leaves us thin at CB but I think if we can grab johnson in the 7th he can compete with trufant, berry, lankster. I think it would be cool to overhaul our offense in one draft and this isnt so far fetched and might be doable Thoughts?
If the Jets draft Geno Smith at #9, I would rather see them draft Chance Warmack at #13. Just so Geno isn't pressured by opposing defenses to force throws. If Warmack isn't their at #13, trade the pick for a later 1st.
Yea I know what your saying. I just wanted to put a draft together that would surround geno with playmakers. So drafting Austin and bailey would be cool since they played together and have great chemistry already. Another thing is having colon and duccasse start the season at guard. I know that sounds scary though lol also I wan to throw out there a possible Holmes trade but I don't think the value would be very good
I think that a WR core of Holmes, Kerley, Hill, Bailey, Gates/Braylon and Kelce/Cumberland at TE would be sufficient enough to pass on Austin, no? Especially since OG is such a need for the Jets right now.
What do you think about getting Cooper at #13? It's probably a little high but OG is such a big need for the Jets.
I heard he's a better fit for our offense then Warmack is. If we have the 13th I think we should trade down and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd. Maybe rams will move up since they have two firsts
Tavon Austin is a deal at #13, but not needed this year. We have two many receivers as it is. I would rather have the Bucs 1st and 2nd next year which we could package with ours to get Johnny Footbal who would be much more exciting than Smith. Let us suck for one more year and start our franchise again next year with a real HC and a franchise QB.
Well if Cooper is a better pass blocker than Warmack then it makes sense. I've also heard that Cooper is a better athlete then Warmack. I haven't really been following the o-line this year...
The team that is in a position to draft Manziel or Teddy will most likely need a QB so there is no way they would pass on Manziel. There is also no guarantee that Manziel or Teddy comes out.
so essentially we become West Virginia? If we got Geno I would add Bailey over Austin for a number of reasons. 1. if we were to take Geno at 9, I'd much rather take Jones, Warmack or trade back and get Menelik Watson. 2. Bailey has played with Geno Smith his whole life. Austin will be an explosive player, but we have needs elsewhere. this receiver class is deep. we could add Bailey or Swope in the 3rd.
I wouldn't mind tanking this year if it lands us bridgewater or Johnny football. But I don't see us being one of the three worst teams. Also I don't want Rex Ryan gone like a lot of other fans do. I think we have the formula right now with Rex as head coach/defensive coordinator and Marty running the offense. It's tr first time he's had a proven offensive coordinator. I know Sparano was his guy and wanted him and that was clearly the mistake but Rex is our guy
That's kind of what I was getting at. It was kind of more for fun then and ideal situation. I to would want and OLB Jordan jones or ansah at 9 or 13. Or even Warmack or cooper. But looking at the draft I made as a whole I would take it and be excited about it
I can't see Geno drop all the way to 9 but, you never know there is always one team that will fall in love with him.
Why not? Chiefs have Alex smith, jacksonville gabbert(maybe they give up on him), raiders flynn, eagles Vick/foles(chip might want to bring in his own qb), lions stafford, browns could take him, cards Carson Palmer, bills still open. I think there is a great chance he falls to us and if we don't take him he is going to slide real far Into the late first.
Rex admits he lost control of the locker room and didn't know what was happenning back in 2011. It's now 2013 and he have yet to get control of the team. A defense coach, fantastic, head coach no thanks. He is his fathers son to a fault. When he lost the weight, he lost his balls and the "to hell with you" attitude I liked about him. He is litterally a shell of the man he once was. I say stack up the picks and entice a real HC to the Jets. Who knows, since BP would be in the HOF by then he might want to come back. I think Marty has as much chance at being our HC next year as Rex if he get the offense on the board this year, and I don't think with our QB options that will happen either.
Yea I know but there is a chance. There's so many good recievers that he might drop but if not there will be a good receiver there in the third.
