Attack the QB, they throw picks, the ranking goes up.

Bob Sutton doesn't attack the QB.

 

We need another CB who can play man-to-man coverage. That'd help big time with blitzing. Law, Lowery and Barrett are all too slow to play man (obviously)... The 3man rush is pointless the QB always finds the cracks in the soft cover 2 down the field.

 

I think that was more so when JT O'Sullivan was starting. Now that he's on the bench I think that has changed some what.

 

i feel like the Jets always find something that works well and is effective, and once they realize that, they get too cute and change it up. i think Mangini over thinks too many things. Just keep Jenkins on the field and keep the pressure up on the QB. When we do that, we win

 

well I don't mean only SF and Hill I mean the philosophy of the defense. i'd like the Jets to steal a few plays out of La Beau's book and blitz like he does.

Sending three and dropping 8 is no blitzing at all

 

if we continue to send 3 on every play, well i'll be very pissed. We have pass rushers, lets use them!

 

If we continue to send 3, the offense better outscore the other team, because that will allow the opposition to fuck up the secondary even more.

 

Absolutely. We've seen what happens when we give QBs time to sit back in the pocket and survey the field - it's suicide.

 

harris being back will allow us to see the pass rush we have all forgotten about. we were able to get consistent pressure to start the season. harris going down changed how we attacked teams.

 

That seems about right. We need some Defensive backs!!!

 

The secondary really needs to step it up, the jets have good talent in Revis and Rhodes, the other guys need to perform well to help them out. If the Jets wanna be a good playoff team they have to stop the pass.

 

That damn prevent is the biggest reason, that our stats look so bad. Just look at the Pats game, they couldn?t get anything going in the first half, then Sutton started to play the prevent, and Cassel looked like a HOFer and we only came out of it with a good portion of luck.

Yeah i really don't understand this. Revis is a stud and Rhodes is a good player. Elam and Law/Lowery aren't terrible either. There's no way these are the 3rd worst secondary in the NFL. Our LBs must be that bad in coverage.

 

Well duh...nice to see they finally realize how bad our pass defense sucks.

 

The # is a bit misleading as we have had alot of leads and teams have been forced to throw against us(plus they can't run non us) and we have played a prevent D. We know the pass D isn't great but it's certainly not as bad as 30th would lead you to believe.

 

Sure it is. You are what your record says you are. We have given up an average of 350 ypg over the last 3 weeks. We lost 1 and almost lost another of those 3.

 

seems like our Pass-D is pretty good then, we win twice as many games as we loose.

 

Almost a complete flip flop from last season.

 

We definitely need to start putting some pressure on the QB. The last several weeks we haven't been able to do that.
