According to Fortune magazine our value is now the 5th highest in the league. The Boys are 1, the Skins 2, the Pats 3, NYGs 4 then us. The difference between us & the Boys is 500M. Here is the link http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...11_stadium_is_building_franchises_values.html
Oh come on. The Jets and the Giants make Dallas, Washington and New England look like a small market teams!
The value of being able to get any national politician you want in your owner's box makes the burg&gold the most valuable franchise in the nation. Whoever put them second is an idiot.
The ratings are based on a lot of different factors, value of the stadium (assuming it's team owned), merchandising (this is where the Cowboys blow everybody else out), ticket prices, and overall cash flow in general. The Cowboys are the third most valuable sports franchise in the world, behind just Manchester United and Real Madrid. Manchester United is nearly twice as valuable as any other professional sports franchise, coming in at 1.8 billion dollars.
Are the ratings based on factors such as whether Brett Favre smiles on the sidelines during pre-season games?
Remember that movie by Warren Beatty, Heaven can Wait, where he is reincarnated and plays the rich guy who buys a team so he can be the QB and is a star. He paid way over book or 64 million for the team in the 80s, my how times have changed. The most valuable team, ahem, is the GB Packers by definition because no amount of money will pry them from the city's ownership. Sorry, had to add that on a Jets forum, old habits die hard.
