    With the exception of the late 60's, the early 80's and the late 90's the Jets have always been run by a mediocre to terrible brain trust on draft day.

    There's been no Red Auerbach or Gil Brandt behind the scenes orchestrating a winning game plan for the franchise and as a result the Jet's drafts have looked like a mishmash of bad picks, veering wildly over the landscape from year to year.

    This was mainly the fault of Leon Hess, who was a totally inept owner.

    One of the reasons that Tannenbaum and Mangini have seemed so unfamiliar to us in their styles is that we don't even know what a good management team looks like since we've never had one.

    I wasn't born yet for the 80's so I assumed none of the picks were good.


    ... "We Want Sapp!" "We Want Sapp!'.. Why did they pick a TE over Sapp? Wasn't that the 3rd TE in 3 Drafts for the Jets?
