more proof that you shouldnt believe all of what he saids in the press. Everybody and their momma knew he must start in order to get a good evaluation since he pretty much has done nothing so far. This is no surprise but if he plays good he is not the starter in the regular season for this team.

look, the guy has only played 7 seconds of football this preseason, he need to start regardless and get some legit playing time in him. It was obvious he was going to start this game. Even more obvious when it was crazy that Sanchez was in well into the 3rd in the 2nd preseason game.
I just realized Manish reported this so ... ahhh ... I'm going to wait to hear from a legit source. You're installing a new offense - you want your starter to have as many reps as possible. You do not start a guy week 3 of preseason that doesn't have a chance to start week 1 of the regular season. This is the only preseason game they game plan for. You just don't waste those snaps. You're wishing Geno doesn't have a chance because you're a Sanchez fan and think the Jets "owe him".
yes I do but at the same time hes played little and I believe 1 preseason game should'nt deliver you a starting role. But again, we will see. And also, who is Manish?
Mighty big stage for the rookie to be on. His first pro start in the biggest fishbowl in the country under enormous pressure to win a not just a job, but a starting Qb job on a Qb starved team. We'll learn just what Geno is made of at this point in his career Saturday nite. He won't be facing the Jags either and I hope Ryan leaves him in for 3 qtrs. just to get a good read on him. If he shits the bed, it just means that we'll have two Qb's on the roster capable of bed shitting. Not like we're not used to seeing that sort of thing anyway over the years.
I dont know how some people can think that the decision still hasnt been made on who will start the season. As LTJF said, do you really think Rex and Marty would sacrifice significant time in the "dress rehearsal" preseason game just to appease fans or whatever bullshit some of you think? If they already had their minds set on Sanchez, they would have decided by now- just like the Eagles and Jags have done. Sanchez has not silenced any critics this preseason. He had a chance to solidify his starting job before Geno even played any significant time in the preseason. Sanchez being Sanchez, he failed.
same here. Huge game for Geno, great test for how he handles pressure and a proven defense and rush. If he doesn't release quick he will pay for it. I bet Sanchez is secretly channeling his inner Walter White to think of how he can sabotage his rivals performance. He doesn't have to'take' the job if Geno cooperates and hands it to him. It is unfortunate that we have to root for a rookie to play better than our fifth year starter. It's also unfortunate that the bar for that is pretty low compared to other 5th year starters.
geno's performance comes down to the offensive line in my opinion. the giants secondary is an absolute joke so if he can get time in the pocket he should be able to pick them apart
