ESPN has the Rangers at #5 in their opening power rankings.
Kakko was RW on the first line in practice today.
...and didn't Kakko play with Mika and Kreider in the last pre-season game against the Bruins.
I really hope Kakko starts to realize his potential this season. Interviews I've seen here in Finland from him hve been promising, he's been healthy and trained with other Finnish NHL players from the same city, including last year's champions Rantanen & Lehkonen.
He will probably get to play in top lines for some time to start the season, and if he doesn't deliver the goods, he could be traded away, maybe to Chicago for Kane.
If I remember correctly, the Rangers had Vesey on the 1st line against Boston. The next day, they had Kakko on their line for practice.
We’ll see what happens. Kakko has looked really good and the Rangers need him to be with how bad they are at RW.
Just an FYI:
The Rangers are carrying 23 players, meaning they’ll only have around 1M in cap by the trade deadline. They’re not going to have any money come the deadline.
Someone is probably going to get released to save money and the fact that it’s not Libor Hajek is horseshit.
A great opening-day win!
I think that's a fair ranking.
He had a great preseason and looked good last night.
KK is going to turn a lot of non-believers into believers this year.
But can he convince @HackettStillSux?
Krieder is a fucking assassin down low.
Rangers still can’t win face offs for fuck all
Holy shit, what a goal from Kakko.
So, Fleury is basically a shell of himself at this point?
Monster goal by Kakko. Looked like a Jagr goal.
Reeves just destroyed Foligno. No idea why it started.
Edit: Foligno had the hit that shook Miller up. Can't do that and not get a Reevesing at some point,.
“Destroyed” is overstating the case a wee bit.
