If the first 5 weeks of the season is indicative of the true strength of the teams, the NFC title is up for grabs. None of the pre-season favorites are playing consistent good football. The Saints, Vikings, Packers, Cowboys, Texans are all struggling. The Falcons are 4-1 but they've squeaked by a couple of games. The last 2 weeks, the Giants looked like the strongest team in the NFC.
Just because thoe teams are struggling means nothing. Its a new game in the playoffs. Also keep in mind the Packers and Saints have alot of key players on injury right now. I still say the Saints repeat again this year. Saints, Cards, Packers, Cowboys, Falcons, and Vikings will be your NFC playoffs. The powerhoue AFC teams are struggling as well.
Hey, i wouldn't doubt it. The falcons aren't that great of a team. They've benefited from some mediocre opponents and lucky wins....especially the two weeks prior to this one (against san fran and new orleans). They don't have the elite defense to be the class of the NFC. they only look like that because the saints and packers have been pretty shitty. The bears should be 3-2, because we know the lions won that game. The packers had potential but i said from the beginning of the season they were overrated. The injuries just make them even less of a threat. That team is a penalty machine. Most undisciplined football team i have ever seen IMHO the two teams that stand out to me are the eagles and the giants. The giants looked like garbage against the colts but they should have won that titans game. The way they've played the last 2 weeks it's hard to say they're not a top 3 team in the NFC. To blow out the titans like that and totally dominate the bears to the point where they looked like a CFL team is pretty hard to do. the eagles also should have beat green bay in week 1. I like Kolb while vick is out, and their defense is solid. they have a lot of weapons with mccoy, jackson, maclin and celek. one of the most well rounded offensive teams i think. The redskins are better than you think, and i've thought (i've gotten burned by them on several bets)...but i don't see that team going far in the playoffs. so i think when it comes down to it, don't be surprised to see the e-girls and gints in the NFC championship (assuming they don't play each other first)
The NFC is weird and weak this year. Injuries have hit several good teams (NO & GB) hard and other teams are inconsistent. That conference is literally up for grabs.
I still think the Skins are a team to watch out for. Old Shanny has a trick up his sleeve and McNabb has a chip on hi shoulder.
Haven't the NFL network spoken about a possible "subway series" Superbowl at this stage for the past couple of seasons? Let's not jinx it again this season. Usually the wheels fall off one or both of our challenges come Week 6.
Yeah, I seem to remember talk of their being a "Subway Bowl" in 2008 when both teams were flying high. How did that treat us again (alcohol consumption during that season has stripped it from my memory)
