NT is probably the key position to every good 3-4 Defense. With our reported interest in a 3-4 DE like Coleman I wonder where Robertson remains in Mangini's plans. Is he confident to keep him at NT - does entertain the idea of moving him to DE - could he be a short term solution since there are no NT prospects in this year's draft?
Most 3-4 DEs are a few inchess taller than D-Rob. I am not sure how he fits there. Also, he is probably the best option for us at DT unless we work out some kind of trade that might prove very costly.
There just aren't alot of options at NT in today's NFL. Wilfork and Williams are the only legit, still relatively young options who can stay healthy and consistent at the position who fit the stereotypical/ideal prototype. W/ that said, D rob was very solid this past season, and was truthfully our best D-lineman. He may not have the prototype size for the position, but he does some things that guys like Wilfork and Williams can't. I'd love to see him moved to DE where he'd be even better, but w/ the lack of people availble for the position, why mess w/ a generally good thing?
