It would not make the NT position any younger, but John Henderson of the Jags may be released today. Big body to fill the middle much like Howard Green. Thoughts?

since the DL wasn't addressed at the Draft....and Henderson has had success at the NFL level....I wouldn't be opposed to signing him on the cheap.

sure John Henderson is very consistent from what I remember from the guy. Dunno if how the final roster will shape up thought..need to trim some QB's from the final 53.

I would hope they go with three QBs this year. I am just worried about Jenkins back and his rehab from last year's surgery.

atleast 3 without a doubt, but we currently have 4. Sanchez, Clemens, O'Connel, Ainge(think we should keep Ainge)

Also Kris Jenkins needs to lose some weight if he expects to play the entire season. Busting two knees at his current weight...yeah he he's going to hurt himself again.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but I just don't understand the love for Ainge that almost everyone on this Board seems to share. I think it's likely that Clemens will be cut, and a vet like Brunnell will be signed. That leaves either Ainge or O'Connell as the third.

Ainge is the new Brent Ratcliffe.

Henderson would be a great signing. Class act. Solid player. Solid person. Go get him boys!

    Trader Mike, FTW.

I'd like to see the Jets carry sanchez +1 backup and leverage brad smith as our #3 disaster QB. Save the roster spot and get more value out of him.

I think you're gonna see a lot of veterans coming here at the minimum that are either going to be a big part of our success or a reason for our faliure.
Either way, the UDA and released players are going to be the next flurry coming our way.

What about signing a load like Henderson and then moving Jenkins to DE? I know that he rotated to DE a few times last season and it worked pretty well. Not everyday stuff, but it could be an option, no?

Is Henderson as "fast" as Jenkins?

Ainge has a better body of work than Ratliff. Bigger school, broke Peyton's freshman record. Better numbers. Not quite the rags to riches story.

Henderson is 31, but he's a player. I'd really like him in rotation with Jenkins, he's a monster. I believe he's like 6'7 too.

I love John Henderson, he was a monster in his prime. A huge 6'7" 335 pound mountain would fill in nicely at DE in our system and be a huge upgrade over Douglas. I say DE over NT because NT you need to have a lower center of gravity and John being 6'7" may be a bit too tall. Guy is a block shedding machine, he's durable and knocks down a bunch of passes at the LOS. Him and Marcus Stroud were the best duo at DT in the NFL for a longtime. Hes a bit older but if we get him I'd be ecstatic. I'd definitely take him over AT without a doubt based on the players and our needs.

Jenkins was always more explosive due to his abnormal speed, quickness for a man his size, but John is pretty nimble on his feet for a big man.

Except no one thinks or wants Ainge to start.
I wonder who we'd get to slap him.

hahaha I seen clips of a him getting slapped by a trainer before games like a sick bastard to get amped up. I'd go with Bart Scott.

For the record, I'll be down for this move if he gets the ax, and won't cost the Jets too much. I don't care if it's an uncapped year, it's still not smart to throw cash out the window.

Gholston. At least he'd be contributing to the success of our defense in some way.

He was a preseason pro just like Clowney, and Woodhead. Clemens looked lost in the preseason(yeah he was playing higher stringed players)
