now that teague is the jets new center.who will the jets take at #29? they have a great opportunity to get some very good players.for example they can take gabe watson, marcus mcneil,or bobby carpenter or maybe kamerion wimbley.after #29 we have picks at #35,71,97,102,116,133,195.I think that the jets lucked out with those early picks.

I still say if Mangold is at 29 he gets a very strong look...I don't think the signing of an OK veteran would make them look away from Mangold...

I'd like to see Laurence Maroney, Bobby Carpenter or Thomas Howard at 29

Bobby Carpenter just rose a few notches in my book. I still think Nick Mangold should merit some serious consideration at that point. Laurence Maroney, LenDale White, Joseph Addai...all solid options. Maybe Gabe Watson, depending on what the CS thinks of DRob

It really depends who we grab on the 4th. That pick should set the tone throughout the whole draft.

Let's say D'Brickishaw Ferguson is the pick at the 4th... the best defender, preferable DE. Tamba Hali, Manny Lawson or Mathias Kiwanuka are possible choices.

Just saw Vilma on espn news being interviewed. He said we should take an 0-linman with the first pick, a "strong area of need". He said he likes "that Ferguson guy" from Virginia. Interesting to hear a player's perspective. But that said, if we do pick D-brick at 4, there's no way IMO we go o-line at 29

With the twenty-ninth pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select Bobby Carpenter, outside linebacker, Ohio State

If we don't take DeAngelo early, then take Maroney at #29.

Assuming we take a QB with the 4th pick, I would personally want to see what OTs would be there at 29. If Winston or McNeil are there I wouldn't mind seeing them, Watson, any of the mentioned OLBs. I personally don't think it would be wise to pay first round money to a QB and RB in the same draft.

Barring something unforseen (such as Deangelo or Marcus McNeil at #29) I think you take the best pass-rushing OLB available whether it be Carpenter, Lawson, or Wimbley.

I know I've said this before, but can anybody show me one career achievement of Teague that suggests that he is a quality NFL starter? He should be used as a depth offensive lineman.

    Mangold is still the choice.

I thought Mangold was a poor choice at #29 all along. Maroney or Lawson, Maybe someone like Jonathon Joseph or Eric Winston.

They take the best player who fills their needs. It might not be a lineman. It could be a RB. This just gives them more options with the 29th pick and their 3nd round pick. I like this move. I wish they sign a OT as well.

I don't think Teague is going to be a solution for any year other than 06, however I'd much rather shore up offensive tackle then waste a first round pick on a center. The better centers are found later in the draft.

MIKE DEGORY PEOPLE. BEST RUN BLOCKING CENTER IN THE DRAFT!

Whether he will be the starter or not he at least gives us quality depth and because of this signing it wouldn't hurt to pick a center in the 2nd day of the draft, that way they could learn on the bench and take over when Teague is done. With that said there should be no way we go with Mangold, and instead go with BPA, I would probably like a RB in that spot most, but if someone drops we could always go RB with the 35th pick

True. It just give us fleaxability. I am personally like the idea of the Jets moving Brian Thomas off the line. He might solve the OLB position. The man is fast.

I think it does not really affect our picking Mangold if he is there.
