Remember, the patriot way in free agency was not to break the bank on anyone and sign players basically at less than there market value.

Also remember, while we'll have 19-21M of cap room, every other team in the league gained 8M-10M of cap room as well. It wasn't an increase in the Jets cap and noone elses.

Finally, let the excietement begin. Jets better make a splash in FA, with a quick early big signing, the ex-FO, my gawd they were so slow and they mostly signed sub par players.

I think everyone understands that by now...it's not a bad thing that everyone gained that kind of Money...it certainly helps our situation a little bit more than other teams.

I'm not 100% sure it does. Obviously, it doesn't hurt, but I don't think anything is going to change. The teams with tons of cap room are going to be players, and the teams with none are not.

See, if there was an uncapped year, the cheap teams (VIkings, Cardinals) would spend right to the cap floor and that's it, eliminating a lot of their free space. Also, a lot of people would have been cut, making the value of good free agents a lot less.

I really think it's going to be a wash. By that, I mean the teams that would have been aggressive are still going to be, the teams that are going to be conservative still are going to be.

Is that 19-21M with Abe still on the roster, or after he's already been cut?? If that is with him on the roster, and we can be below the cap by almost 30M once he is cut, then we can defintiely be very active in free agency. Let the excitement begin.

  9. We will sign acouple inexpensive guys to shore up both our lines.

Think Sam Adams and perhaps Tom Ashworth

Not saying those aren't options, but the ones we are rumored to be interested in right now are Kevin Shaffer and Ted Washington.

  11. I'd be very happy w/ both. Although Washington would only be an answer at Nt for about 2 seasons.
