Why isn't the NRA trumpeting this news from every right wing media outlet in the land? You'd think they would be ecstatic that the most popular semi automatic weapon in the world will be manufactured here in the good old USA...

Lol. Oh the irony. But more importantly, they made it so the company had to open a factory in the u.s. to continue sales here. Why isn't this happening more?

The real one is fully automatic. Whatever they sell in the States is a modified version to comply with the no automatic weapons regulations.

but can be modified no? (illegally of course..) Between the Chinese variant and all the other knockoff AK's already available here, not sure exactly where the market for this will land outside of collectors.

From what I read in the article, this isn't really news. It was being made in Pennsylvania and the factory is being relocated to Florida.

There is a pretty big market for AK variant rifles. Ammo is cheap and they are fun to shoot.
Century Arms also manufactures an all US made AK 47, I think in VT. Century Arms also imports many types of firearms from Europe and Turkey.
There are also many manufacturers from former Soviet satellite countries who import the rifle.

... it is next on my "to buy" list.

If you have business ties with Russia and/or sell their weapons here you should be taxed like crazy or put out of business. Just my opinion. That's the price Putler should have to pay. You are right, it should be happening more.

I'd be all for that. I only have the Walther PPK. I just got it cause I wanted the James Bond gun and would have paid a premium for it. I have no need for assault rifles tho, I'd rather spend my money on coke and strippers.

An AK clone is cheap enough you can buy coke then go shooting with the strippers. I think my buddy paid like $239 for his.

I don't know that they "had" to move to the US, but they did, so good for them.
It is a very simple gun design, very reliable, easy take down and maintenance.

I'm not a gun owner and I'm actually for strict gun control policy. But even I know the AK-47 is the most versatile gun in history. Put the thing underwater and it still shoots. A 15 year old can strip it down and put it back together, an amazing invention for killing people.

More factories, more jobs.i am not into politics so someone will tell me why its a bad idea.
    As for the ak
