It makes perfect sense now - Huezinga has been trying to sell at least part of the team for a while - Parcells has (reportedly) been negotiating to join the organization for a few weeks. Curtis Martin wouldn't say which team he and his group were buying... ...if you were Curtis Martin and you wanted to buy a team and get it up and running from the dead - wouldn't you hire Parcells - your coach and mentor, to be the VP of Football Operations?
Curtis Martin is the best/my favorite player I've ever had an opportunity to watch live.... If he bought the Phins, I'd feel like I was stabbed in the back...
Huezinga told Parcells he decided not to sell the team. That is why Parcells began to negotiate with them again. They had spoke a couple of weeks or so ago and Huezinga was still thinking about selling the team so Parcells didn't want to deal with him.
After watching what happened to the early Marlins, I would trust Wayne Huizenga's word almost as far as I would Parcells.
Really? I'd welcome the competition (which is ovioulsy non-extistent), especially because I have faith in Mangini and hope he coaches the Jets for a long time. A la Cowher.
So you'd prefer the Dolphins DON'T suck? Making our path to the playoffs each year that much harder? If it weren't for their extreme shittiness, we'd likely be 1-13 right now
He says he's not selling MAJORITY interest - but may bring in a minority partnership - Curtis Martin as a Minority Partner/Managing Partner? The other possibility - Martin and his group INCLUDES Parcells and he knows the deal and is taking over now knowing the change will come later...
There's a difference between wanting the opposing team to be healthy and wanting them to be good. I wouldn't mind if the Dolphins sucked until 2090.
Parcells takes over the personnel decisions in Miami, I would bet this month's mortgage that the Dolphins will be in the SB before the Jets. No doubt in my mind at all they'll be more successful quicker.
 just remember that belichek has never won a super bowl without crennel. one of our posters constantly says that tuna hasn't won it without bellichek.
I would love to see Martin get ownership of a team eventually... but he cannot possibly pick the Dolphins. Well he could, but then I would have to loathe him and that would just break my heart.
Hey, Pats to Jets to Phins...he's an inside man...he knows the business. As much as I don't want to see one of my favorite Jets helping the dolphags...he's still a cool dude doing a cool thing...still sux though.
Yeah I feel you guys. If Marino started buying Jets stock I would be pretty bummed too. Not sure if I would welcome Martin either... that would just feel wierd. Plus he would probably be a hands-on type of owner which isnt always a good thing.
