Was suprised to see nothing posted yet on Runyan coming to visit. I like him as a RT and would help sure up the right side and protect Chad or Ramsey, whoever is behind center. Could help break some runs off the right side too that was lacking last year. Anyone have anything positive or negative to say on the guy. Hopefully we can get him for a two or three year deal at a solid price.

Been living in Philly for 12 years. My take on Runyan is that he's been an above average RT for an Eagles team that's gone deep in the playoffs for more than 5 years before last year's TO debacle.

True the Eagles haven't had a breakout rusher, but Andy Reid simply refuses to run the ball. It's a pass 1st, 2nd and 3rd philosophy.

Some folks in this hyper-critical town think he's overrated but IMO he's been underappreciated. And now, as he starts to make his FA tours, I hear the fans on WIP changing their minds and praying he returns.

IMO opinion, with the holes the Jets still have to fill, signing Runyan is a must. Tangini should get him signed before he leaves town.

On another front, I'm afraid Dwight will sign with Pittsburgh. Why? Who would you rather play for? The Jaw or the Double Chin?

I just read that he visited. We could certainly use speed at WR.

Good Take. We had a solid run blocking RT in McKenzie, so another big guys on the ride side does make me excited. How is his pass blocking? I have seen him play in many games but never really keyed on him. We could use a veteran also with Moore on the right side who is still a bit young but learning, he has yet to play with a vet and I think it could help him.

Dwight would be good. Wonder if he or Miller would return the kick offs. If Miller is our future #1 then, I would rather not risk him in injury returning kickoffs.

I believe he just visited, As far as needing a speed reciever coles is one of the fastest in the league. We would get dwight as a return man.

But back to the thread at hand. I would love to runyan come in here for a couple of years. If the price is right. A veteren who can teach the young guys a thing or 2

Runyan held his own vs. the pass rush. He's had some epic battles with Strahan and typically they would split. One game Strahan would get a couple of sacks, the next time nothing.

I'd be extatic if we could make this pickup, it would also allow us to focus just 1 more draft pick on something other than OL.

actually this would be perfect for us and we need it. lol

Itd be a good signing, as long as we didnt go too long term. Hes 33, we just got rid of Fabini who was younger(I think) but was already breaking down. I dont want to see the Jets get tied to this guy and have him end up bottoming out after a year.

The tackle situation is going to be interesting this year. Gotta figure theyre looking for a big guy for the right side, what with the visits with Runyan and Ashworth. What Im wondering is what they think of Adrian Jones, and what kind of interest they have in D'Brickashaw Ferguson. Ferguson is the player I want, but I think Adrian Jones has some serious potential... maybe hes a potential trade chip.

Don't get too excited... He's more than likely just using us to drive up Philly's offer. He has publicly stated that he'd like to re-sign with Philly at the right price.

I'd be very surprised if we could land a guy like Runyan.

I dont think they are interested in Brick at all. We have the poor mans D'Brickashaw Ferguson in Adrian Jones. He just needs more time and work, hes still young and was thrown into a very bad situation last yr where there was no solidity at all except for RG.

Getting Runyan for 2-3 yrs would be great.
