Figured I'd start a thread to list out some notable cuts, to make it a place where people can track who is out there, that the Jets may have some interest in. This way we won't have a to see a X just got cut thread every 2 minutes. WAS: Chris Cooley - TE Tim Hightower - RB Rock Cartwright - FB NE: Deion Branch - WR Donte Stallworth - WR Jabar Gaffney - WR James Ihedigbo - S Dan Coppen - C PHI: O.J. Atogwe - S Mardy Gilyard - WR Matt McBriar - P NYG: D.J. Ware - RB David Douglas- WR CLE: Evan Moore - TE Dan Gronkowski - TE BUF: Dwan Edwards - DL StL: Ovie Mughelli - FB DET: Alphonso Smith - CB SF: Rock Cartwright - FB CAR: Darius Butler - CB MIN: Lex Hilliard - RB TB: Tiquan Underwood - WR BUF: Derek Hagan - WR If there's anyone I'm missing please add on.
he is...im trying to just list guys the jets might look at acquiring though. the hoyer cut is certainly a surprise, in fact lots of surprises from NE.
If Conner is released I'd LOVE Mughelli. He was one of the best blockers in the game not too long ago. Also, Branch, Gaffney, Cooley, Moore, and Ware (one of the more surprising cuts IMO) would all be great additions.
yeah i did that by accident. Agreed. I would release Conner for Ovie anyway. Ovie has proven to be a tremendous lead blocker. Could be our new T - Rich if signed. Also, I'd cut Schilens for Branch right now. But, there are plenty more cuts coming, probably bigger names the later we get.
A few rookies who have been cut I'd love to give a shot: Marvin McNutt BJ Cunningham Jeff Fuller Phillip Thomas Brandon Washington
ProFootballTalk @ProFootballTalk Lions waive CB Alphonso Smith, per source with knowledge of situation.
I'd love to see oj atogwe on our team. Really add some safety depth and he's pretty good in coverage Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
ProFootballTalk @ProFootballTalk Panthers drop CB Darius Butler, once a second-round pick of the Patriots.
Patsies C Dan Koppen also released per NFL.com http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...leased-by-patriots?module=HP11_headline_stack
I'm interested in McNutt, as a Michigan fan, I saw this guy tear down our defense on more than one occasion. He has pretty good speed, and good hands.
BJ Cunningham was cut due to reportedly dropping too many passes in camp. I didn't follow Hard Knocks this year or heard of any issues with Cunningham's hands. You don't become Michigan State's all-time leading receiver dropping passes. Cunningham was a reliable target in College. Somebody will pick him up, or at very least will get on a Team's practice squad. Cunningham was one of my favorite players last season.
I watch Hard Knocks and he was never mentioned. The drops worry me since he doesn't have much size or speed, but he obviously needs another look.
