I don't think Idzik is interested in picking up any castoffs unless somebody gets injured.

    hahaha

Holy shit - isn't he in the league only 4 years? Talk about a fall from grace.

    That's doing some research.

No one jumps out - looks like dumpster diving

He might, though. We desperately need a fast linebacker, in my opinion.

  8. Wow...a lot of crap on that list.

Some of those names at safety may fit into the "productive/short term/cheap). Chris Hope,Tom Zbibowski & Kenny Phillips have all started in this league.

what the hell happenned to Aaron Curry? Wasn't he hyped as the "can't miss" prospect of that draft and taken before Sanchez?

Sanchez happened - just, Seattle didn't have the patience that the Jets had.

On a side note, I'd like to see what Rex can do for him. If he sticks, along JJ, it will be a huge steal.

For now, I see three guys I'd like to test out: Chris Hope, Kenny Phillips and Aaron Curry [LB]

  11. I wonder at the very least if Curry could help out as an edge setter. He was pretty good at that in college & it's putting together the rest of his game that has haunted him in the NFL. Jets OLBs struggle w/ that to the point where they are now scheming the ILBs to do it. Having a designated guy in that role could pay dividends.

    Just a thought.

    LOL @ Aaron Curry.

Dude is trash. Might as well bring Vernon Gholston out of retirement instead.

Frankly, now he's branded a bust, but if he comes to the Jets, probably he'd be the first blue-chip OLB prospect to come to the Jets in the past decade. Also, I would like to think that, if he has what it takes to succeed in NFL, Ryan will find a way to utilize what he has to offer.

P.S. I know when we mention Aaron Curry, people WILL bring up that good for nothing garbage Ghost. Ryan didn't like that kid coming out of college. 'Nuff said. Of course, if Ryan flips the bird at Curry, we can conclude the same about that kid as well.

The next round of cuts are where you could find a diamond in the rough. I'd especially watch who Seattle and San Fran cut as both are extremely deep especially on defense.

Kerry Rhodes is also available, I don't think a team ever picked him up at all this summer.

I like Hope just as a safeguard at safety. Can fill in and play decent enough

Why when this is so much fun?

Seriously, I don't know why you even started this thread but I assumed you thought these "notable" cuts were people the Jets may be interested in signing. I made a simple comment that I don't think the Jets are in the market to sign anybody who has been cut unless there is an injury. If that bothers you then learn to live with it.

This is certainly a list that ShopRite, PathMark, A&P and Wegman's would be interested in.

The biggest of all, Walmart, is lurking around the corner too, looking intently.

I'm looking in that general direction as well. No update on NFL.com so far yet.
