ESPN reported today that the price for the naming rights to the New Meadowlands will set a new record. Whatever company wants to get there name on the stadium, it's going to cost them more then any other stadium in the world to this point, not sure if this will favor the Jets at all? I'm sure any cut they get, half goes to the G-Men.

Jet blue would be great, but I doubt they pony up the dough... but once the stadium is named, the giant naming license should all but eliminate expensive PSL's which is a great thing.

i heard that an adult content company that owens numerous web sites, 3 porn lables, over 700 dildo stores (world wide), and over 400 strip clubs contacted the Giants to inquire about possible naming rights or any other possible connection with the stadium. Of course this could not possibly happen, but the offer was for over $100M per year. I heard this - almost - exact same story from 3 different 'inside' people over the last 3 months. The name of the company has no market awareness and no overt connection to adult entertainment so i have no idea what they are thinking. obviously the stadium will never have this connection, but the money is most definetely there. i met an individual high up in this company at an adult convention in vegas recently and he emphatically denied the whole thing but then i heard him talking to a person i did not know and it sounded like he was talking real stuff. who knows, but $100M per year is ain't scratch.

maybe instead of jetblue it will become jetblueballs?

A big reason as to why it will cost more is because there will be double the amount of home games then any other team or stadium.
Every week of the season there will be a game at "Bada-Bing" Stadium.

Jet Blue is perfect, Jet for us and Blue for the Giants-- a bi partisan name if you will

The other choice is for General Mills to go for "Green Giant Stadium" (ho ho ho).

I really hope that long setup wasn't a joke just so you could deliver that one line.

With our luck it will be Giant Glass that gets the naming rights!

I'm pretty sure the Giants and Jets will be getting a 50 / 50 split on all revenue once the new stadium is up, because the Jets will no longer be leasing from the Giants, but rather, sharing.

If the naming rights are going to cost that much, I would hope that this causes the price of whatever PSLs they are going to throw at us to go down considerably!!

I don't know if I like the ring to "Green Giant Stadium", it still has "Giant Stadium" in it and that digs up bad memories. "Jet Blue Stadium" isn't bad, I can live with that, least our teams name comes first!!!!
