reading through the few miami threads, im just shaking my head at everyone who is taking this game so lightly and either has us blowing miami out or giving them 0 chance to win. We are 2-4 against the dolphins the last 3 seasons, despite them going through 4 QB's in that span and having a combined record of 19-29. playing on the road vs. a team with a fast explosive HB and a solid line wont be an easy task. they can certainly beat us. not saying they will, but to think this is a layup is just crazy.
well if all else fails and you are down by 15 points with less than 3 minutes to go , you got the guy that set the NFL record for biggest comeback ever as a QB starter in that situation .......
With their lack of receivers and a rookie QB, we can focus on stopping the run first. I think our D will have no problem with them. Who knows what our O will look like but I don't expect to lose this game. It's not a certainty, not that it ever is, but I feel pretty good about our chances.
Everytime I think it might be close that is what I think. Rex Ryan defenses eat rookie QBs for breakfast. Rookies usually start out a little strong but once they get footage on them DC can start to really target his weaknesses. Throwing at our CBs under pressure he will make mistakes. Bush is a great RB but I can't see Miami winning this. They have a good run stopping D but Sparano should be able to figure out ways to exploit them through familiarity. Might not be a high scoring game but we will put up enough points to win.
It all depends on how the receiving corps and secondary show up for Miami. The NY secondary should be able to slow Miami receivers but if Reggie has a game like last week, could be interesting. I wouldn't put too much stock into Tony Sparano's ability to break down Miami's defense considering the new parts and system implemented. If the Jets fall back early in the game, this game could swing either way due to the Dline pinning their ears back on Sanchez. I hope Shonn Greene is healthy and ready to take some hits because that Phins rush defense is stingy
I agree with the OP - I don't know how anyone can be confident in the Jets beating any team to make a statement like "no way a team beats them" The Dolphins can easily run all over the Jets if they can get to the outside. On any given Sunday the Jets could go without scoring an offensive TD.
I can see Sanchez having a great game. The Jets need to go back to what they did against the Bills. Keep the defense honest against the run, and look to get the ball to all your receivers.
Considering the Phins have held 3 rb's that are better than Greene (Foster, Tate and McFadden) to 2.4 ypa Sanchez might have to have a great game.
The Dolphins LITERALLY cannot beat the Jets. The only way the Dolphins win is if the Jets blow it. Week 17 last year was not the Dolphins winning, it was the Jets self-destructing and losing. So for someone to say that, I agree. Miami could get the victory, but it would be due to the Jets playing VERY poor.
oh u mean after his kicker kicked a 59 yd fg after kicking a 53 yarder b4 that one? tebow's luck has run it's course
sanchez will definitely have to get it done...and keller better play in this one. honestly, its going on 4 weeks now since the injury...and seeing it, it wasnt that big... i'm starting to think he's sitting intentionally bc he wants a new deal...if he doesn't go in this one im going to have to think that could be a possibility.
Why so wordy? Heads, Jets win... tails, Dolphins lose. Celebrate brevity! Exploring your theory further... how long has it been since the Jets legitimately lost a football game? 1970?
On the one hand, no division game is ever a guaranteed win. On the other hand, the Dolphins really really fucking suck.
