"The New York Jets have announced that this year's training camp, if there's one, won't be held at SUNY Cortland. Instead, the team will hold training camp at their facility in Florham Park. "This was not an easy decision, but one we felt we needed to make in order to give us the best chance to win", said GM Mike Tannenbaum.

This is good news for the Jets fanbase in the tri-state area, as they won't have to travel to Upstate New York to see the Gang Green practice. On the other hand, the team's training complex has absolutely no bleachers and lacks parking space."

WTF is the matter with these people? They shouldn't be getting any awards, period. Let them try to bullshit their way through this one using their recent "excellence" award as a backdrop.

Who TF builds a practice facility in a metro area and doesn't consider the fan base? Unbelievable.

Do most teams accommodate for the fan base at training camp?

Wouldn't one expect that to be so in the NFL? At least from my experience, it's always been that way with the Giants and Jets. Hofstra was a great place to take kids. And NY baseball training camps have long been open to the fanbase, albeit in FL.

And they provide for their fans down there. So why is it so necessary now for the Jets to make it difficult to bring kids and watch the rookies work out? Does it have to be so much about money all the time now?

Here's my opinion on that... Okay, suppose it is all about money and nothing else. Were I the general manager, I'd want to cultivate young fans (fans who will eventually be wage-earners). So yeah, I want as many 5-year olds becoming Jets fans as possible. Let them start wearing their Jets green and 15 years down the road, when they're earning money, they're buying season tickets and spending money at the stadium. I don't fucking get it.

I think things were scrapped for bleachers and parking when they moved parking up north to cortland. If they wanted TC in florham park yearly they would have rectified their initial mistake in not building them. But I get the feeling it is a one year fix because of the lockout. I would be surprised if the Jets host training camp there in the future.

Sure. Why host a training camp at a multi-million dollar training facility? Makes no sense.

And how do you "move parking up north to Cortland?" That must have cost a fortune, moving all that asphault and reapplying it to grassy areas up there.

I swear to God, am I the only one left in the NY area that thinks the Jets are way off base with this nonsense?

I'm sure they'll make appropriate accomodations for fans. They have to think of the team first because, well, that's what we fans care the most about.

I know an easy way to do that. Have TC at Hofstra University.

Plenty of bleachers and plenty of parking.

but then they would have to come up with another way to fuck old time queens and long island jets fans in the ass.

its a douchy way to not pay cortland for their facilities in case they dont actually get a training camp or it is too late and the field is taken by their own team. however they really need to figure something out to make it feasible for fans. even if its a park at a lot and get shuttled and then they have temp bleachers or something.

i fucking hate you brett favre for ruining my trip to go see training camp at hofstra.

in my opinion.... who gives a shit.

there is a fucking lockout right now. they didnt expect to be practicing at florham park, for training camp.

btw, yes multi million dollar facility in jersey, but they obviously go upstate to get the fuck away from the city.

Care to say that to my face, IATA? I doubt it, since you don't even have the guts to post it here.

But more important, why would you care what my opinion is? People have millions of opinions on this board... it doesn't mean you have to agree with all of them. And if you don't agree, get over it. I've never understood attacking someone for their opinion. People are entitled to it, just as you are. Get a life and go read another post if it bothers you so much.

I didn't want to get banned, so I cheated and simply provided you a link to my hatred of you.

my opinion of your opinion is that it's a fucking stupid one and you should be ashamed that you posted such drivvle on the internet, furthur lowering the quality of the board.

do yourself a favor and refrain from embarresing yourself in the future.

Okay, so you're openly admitting to the board mods that it's your practice to circumvent their will and intent. You "don't want to get banned," so you post on the BS board, then provide links to your insults to get around the system. Hmmm... I see. Very clever, but also abysmally dumb. Spit in the mods' faces, why don't you.

IATA, I have seen your posts before and have eyed them with neutrality, quite frankly. I don't have opinions about your posts one way or the other and I certainly can't ever recall a run-in with you. I'm quite serious about that. Please refresh my memory if I'm wrong. So I'm not aware that I've antagonized you in any way.

That being the case, you "hate" me because you think my opinions are "stupid ones" and that I should be ashamed of myself. Look, you'll have to live with that, my friend. You'll have to live with that hate or go kill yourself, one of the two, because I'm here to stay and so are my opinions.

BTW, you need to return to 4th grade and polish up on your spelling. Take a look at your last sentence, because you should heed your own advice: "Do yourself a favor and refrain from embarresing yourself in the future."

"Embarrassing," further" and "drivel" for starters, all in the same post. Who looks "stupid" and embarrassed now?

to be fair; there currently isn't any football, and you're complaining about parking for something that may not even occur? its a little bit silly, in all seriousness.

If you've ever taken the time to travel to Hofstra in the old days, you might have a better appreciation of where I'm coming from.

It really was a very pretty, quaint, downscaled campus to visit, with plenty of close parking for families and a ton of bleachers to sit on. By close parking, I am saying you could park your vehicle and walk 300 yards and be at the gate. No admission and lots of things for the kids to do. And there was always the merchandise tent with tons of stuff to shop for.

On days when there were "two-a-days," I'd leave central Jersey in the morning and watch the entire first practice, then go over to the Colliseum Deli for lunch. I ran into Wayne Chrebet there ordering a sandwich, and he was more than happy to strike up a conversation and autograph a football. Then you could go back over for the afternoon practice and really take it all in. It was a great way to see all the rookies up close and get a good idea about them.

It was that kind of closeness that was so nice of the Jets to host back then. They even had practices on Saturdays sometimes, and entire families could go and bring the kids. There was also plenty of shade under the trees along the fence. I struck up a conversation with Leon Washington over there one day. It really was a lot of fun for the diehard fans.

Now they build a "state-of-the art," multi-million dollar practice facility and don't plan for bleachers or parking? I mean, what's up with that? It's all an extension of beating up on the fan base with the new stadium. Giving the fans less and charging them more.

At some point, Jets fans are going to say, "I've had enough. I want to be a fan but it kinda looks like the Jets don't want me as a fan. All my fan-friendly options are gone."

theres plenty of people who have lives that will gladly buy tickets and merch, if you're going to cry and quit because you cant watch the team practise.

youre delusional if you think them not putting fan parking/bleachers at a private team facility is meant to tick fans off.

Who's the bully here? And if that's the best you've got, it's quite childish and pathetic, really. Seriously, take a look at yourself.
